2. Nokia Cancels U.S. Launch of X7
Phone
• Nokia Corp. has canceled the release of a
smartphone that was planned to launch this
year with AT&T Inc.
• Nokia had intended to debut the phone,
touchscreen, with AT&T.
– Called the X7.
• It would have been Nokia’s first smartphone.
• It leaves Nokia further behind in efforts to
correct a major weakness.

3. Apple Soars, but Mum on Jobs
• Apple posted a 78% surge in profit and record sales of
its gadgets during the holiday quarter.
• During the report, they failed to mention the sudden
leave of Chief Executive Steve Jobs, due to medical
problems.
– Steve Jobs has a rare type of pancreatic cancer called islet
cell neuroenndocrine tumor.
• Apple’s share slumped Tuesday and then gained some
ground to end the Nasdaq trading down.
– It went down 2.3% at $340.65.
– It then rose after the report was released, gaining 1.5% ti
$345.60.

4. Nintendo releases details about its
hand-held, 3-D gaming system
• Nintendo has created a gaming system with a 3-D
screen, without the help of 3-D glasses.
• It will go on sale on March 27th and will sell for $250.
• It was unveiled last summer at he Electronic
Entertainment Expo (E3).
• It will come with a new game called “Face Raiders”
already installed.
• It takes photos.
• Reviewers believe it will change the experience of
hand-held gaming.

5. It’s a Phone, It’s a Laptop, It’s an Atrix
• The Atrix is being called the most powerful
mobile phone currently made.
– Motorola is the maker.
• The phone has a fingerprint scanner that is
built in to help protect your privacy.
– It requires a swipe of the owner’s finger to unlock
the phone.
– You can also use a pin number.
• It has a 11.6-inch screen and keyboard to
become a mini laptop that is 14 millimeters

6. Apple Readies Verizon iPhone
• Apple is on track to sell 40 million iPhones this
year.
• Apple is planning on producing the iPhone by
the end of the year.
• It should be released by the first quarter in
2011.
• The new iPhone with Verizon, is the end of the
contract, with AT&T, since they decided to
work together in 2007.

gaming
• Sonny’s PlayStation Move and Microsoft’s Kinect sold more
than 4.1 and 8 million units during the holidays.

– Has a wand-like controller
– Upcoming ideas, a 3D TV-enabled sci-fi shooter “Killzone
3” and military-themes blaster “SOCOM4: U.S. Navy SEALs”
• Kinect
– Uses cameras to read a player’s full-body
– No controllers
– Videoconferencing, and using hand motions to stream
videos from Netflix and Hulu Plus

• They will be able to use the application
