- And since then they have continuously grown as an industry
- Makingmiraculous leaps constantly putting them way ahead of the competition
- In 1949 dairy queen introduced the milkshake
- In 1951 the banana split appeared on the menu
- In 1953 dairy queen was no longer held down by the limitations of being in a single country
- They now had their foot in the door and became permanent residence of
- Canada
- Throughout the years, dairy queen constantly grew showing people there was no limit in what they can accomplish
- The first national TV commercial, “Live a Little,” is aired in 1966
- In 1972 first Dairy Queen store opens in Japan
- In 1989 Dairy Queen ranked America’s numbertreat chain
- And in 1991 first Dairy Queen opens in Mexico
- By 2001 The first Dairy Queen Grill and Chill restaurant opened in Tennessee.
- In the year 1984 Dairy Queen felt as though it was time to give back to the people that helped them get where they are today
- So they became proud sponsors of the Children’s Miracle Network
- Dairy Queen participates in many Children's Miracle Network fundraisers
- by collecting spare change
- And selling paper miracle balloons
- But the biggest way Dairy Queen has contributed to Children’s Miracle Network is their yearly event called miracle treat day
- A portion of all the proceeds made on blizzard sales that day, help benefits your local children’s hospital
- In the year 2009, approximately 4.5 million dollars was made from blizzard proceeds alone
- Then throughout the years, the gross in sales increased by 50% thanks to popular social media such as
- Facebook and
- Dairy Queen and Children’s Miracle Network are a perfect fit
- There are also many other ways that Dairy Queen gives back to the community, such as
- Supporting scholastic achievements for students
- Offering opportunities for tours of the restaurant
- Teaching them about cleanliness and hard work
- As well as providing discount cards for students in high school or college
- Dairy Queen employees volunteered for the “feed my starving children” initiative during the Haiti relief program
- Which was stationed at a Dairy Queen branch in Chanhassen, Minnesota
- “Feed my starving children” is a non profit, christian organization committed to feeding gods children in body and spirit
- In only 2 days
- They packed a miraculous total of 78,336 meals for families affected by the storm
- And also made large financial donations to the same organization
- Dairy Queen is very generous and loves to give to their customers
