creation on this planet. They play the role of a
mother, sister, wife and much more. Without women,
the universe is incomplete.
In Indian culture, a woman plays the role of a care-taker
as well as the protector of the family. Their role
is no more limited within the four walls of the house-hold
activities. Today’s women have proved that they
can also be the leaders in the corporate world.
3. 1. Roshini Nadar
CEO and Executive Director, HCL Corp.
She is the only daughter of business tycoon
Shiv Nadar, the founder of the ‘HCL Corp.’.
Having the blood of one of the successful
industrialists, Roshni Nadar’s destiny lies in
the corporate world.
She did her graduation from Northwestern
University. She holds a Major in radio,
television and film. She holds an MBA in
Social Enterprise Management and Strategy
from the Kellogg School of Management.
She is currently the CEO and the Executive
Director of the HCL Corp. She is also one of
the trustees of the ‘Shiv Nadar Foundation’
which is involved with the ‘Sri
Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of

completed her masters in Management
studies from Jamanlal Bajaj Institute of
Management Studies.
She is currently the CEO and the Managing
Director of India’s largest private bank, ICICI

1953, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw is the current Chairman
and Managing Director of Biocon.

Zoology. She completed her master’s from Ballarat

International School. She is the co-owner of the
‘Mumbai Indians’ cricket team. She is also

Capgemini.

She joined Capgemini in 2000.
In the year 2012, Fortune Magazine ranked
Aruna Jayanthi as the third most powerful
business women in India. She is considered
to be the sole reason for most of the
success of Capgemini in the Indian IT
sector.

Managing Director, Britannia Industries
She started her career with Voltas and
worked on the launch of the soft drink
brand Rasna. She was also related with
Cadbury for more than 10 years and
with the Coca-Cola for 9 years.
In 2005, Vinita Bali joined Britannia
Industries and is currently the Managing
Director. It was under her leadership
that Britannia’s annual revenue got
tripled to $841 million.
She received the ‘Business Woman of
