2. Theinitial shot we used was an over the
shoulder shot- this immediately put the
audience in the position of character A,
Almost like a point-of-view shot
3. The next shot was a long shot down the
corridor. We chose to use this as it would
show that the character A is walking from
distance to her destination and gives a good
effect.
4. The next shot is a close up of the character A
walking down a corridor, from a side
perspective. She looks up and down and
sighs, showing impatience.
5. Thenext shot includes an over the should
shot which continues into a low angle shot...
6. ...From the previous over the shoulder shot
we get a display of match-on-action from a
low angle shot, then moving onto a medium
shot of the character A reaching for the door
handle and opening the door.
8. Theshot fades in from black, revealing a
medium shot facing the character A’s back
looking out towards the room.
9. A medium shot of character B as she sits at a
table ‘asleep’, character A takes a seat.
10. These scene shows match-on-action,
continuity and the shot-reverse-shot
technique. It is also a display of the 180
degree rule in filming.
11. Here is another display of
match-on-action. Character A
gets up from her chair, the
shot smoothly carries on
filming as she walks to the
other end of the room and
finally exits it.
