Blow the trumpet
1.
2. Joel 2:1
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an
alarm in my holy mountain: let all the
inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day
of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
3. Ezekiel 33:1-12
1 Again the word of the LORD came unto
me, saying,
2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy
people, and say unto them, When I bring the
sword upon a land, if the people of the land
take a man of their coasts, and set him for
their watchman:
4. 3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the
land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the
people;
4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the
trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the
sword come, and take him away, his blood
shall be upon his own head.
5. 5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, and
took not warning; his blood shall be upon
him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver
his soul.
6 But if the watchman see the sword
come, and blow not the trumpet, and the
people be not warned; if the sword
come, and take any person from among
them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but
his blood will I require at the watchman's
hand.
6. 7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a
watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore
thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and
warn them from me.
8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked
man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not
speak to warn the wicked from his way, that
wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his
blood will I require at thine hand.
7. 9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of
his way to turn from it; if he do not turn
from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but
thou hast delivered thy soul.
10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak
unto the house of Israel; Thus ye
speak, saying, If our transgressions and our
sins be upon us, and we pine away in
them, how should we then live?
8. 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord
GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the
wicked; but that the wicked turn from his
way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil
ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
9. 12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the
children of thy people, The righteousness of
the righteous shall not deliver him in the day
of his transgression: as for the wickedness of
the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the
day that he turneth from his wickedness;
neither shall the righteous be able to live for
his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
10. John 4:5-19
5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria,
which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of
ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus
therefore, being wearied with his journey,
sat thus on the well: and it was about the
sixth hour.
11. 7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to
draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to
drink.
8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the
city to buy meat.)
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto
him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest
drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria?
for the Jews have no dealings with the
Samaritans.
12. 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou
knewest the gift of God, and who it is that
saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou
wouldest have asked of him, and he would
have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast
nothing to draw with, and the well is deep:
from whence then hast thou that living
water?
13. 12 Art thou greater than our father
Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank
thereof himself, and his children, and his
cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto
her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall
thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that
I shall give him shall never thirst; but the
water that I shall give him shall be in him a
well of water springing up into everlasting
life.
14. 15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me
this water, that I thirst not, neither come
hither to draw.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy
husband, and come hither.
17 The woman answered and said, I have no
husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well
said, I have no husband:
15. 18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he
whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in
that saidst thou truly.
19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I
perceive that thou art a prophet.
16. John 4:25-29
4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know
that Messias cometh, which is called Christ:
when he is come, he will tell us all things.
4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto
thee am he.
4:27 And upon this came his disciples, and
marvelled that he talked with the woman:
yet no man said, What seekest thou?
or, Why talkest thou with her?
17. 4:28 The woman then left her waterpot, and
went her way into the city, and saith to the
men,
4:29 Come, see a man, which told me all
things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
18. John 4:39-42
4:39 And many of the Samaritans of that
city believed on him for the saying of the
woman, which testified, He told me all that
ever I did.
4:40 So when the Samaritans were come
unto him, they besought him that he would
tarry with them: and he abode there two
days.
19. 4:41 And many more believed because of his
own word;
4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we
believe, not because of thy saying: for we
have heard him ourselves, and know that
this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the
world.
