1. Steps involved in producing an attractive sketch.
When expressingan object, scenary or plans in a form of drawing, we often
sketch it out on a piece of paper to show other people what are we trying to epress or
show to them. An attractive sktech ia a quick drawing of something we observe.
Normally, when one gets inspiredby something, they would draw and sketch it out
because in this way, we are able to capture the essentials of the subject. Steps to
produce an attractive sketch are also often used in expressing ideas from thoughts.
Sketches are easy to draw; it only takes 3 main steps to prduce an attractive
sketch. The steps to produce an attractive sketch are identifying the materials required,
choosing a subject and lastly sketching the subject out. Firstly, to produce an attractive
sketch, certain materials are required to use for the sketch. Materials used for the
sketch varies according to the type of sketch produced and also the suitability of the
materials used for the sketch. For example when travelling, it is easier to use A4 paper
as compared to A3 paper because it is more convinient to carry around. The type of
paper used for attractive sketching also depends on the kind of sketching you want to
produce. Pens, ink and colour pencils can be used for sketching too. The only pen that
can be used for sketching is technique pen and this pen can only be used on tracing
paper. This is because the tip of the pen is then and fragile. For my preferance, I would
rather use pencils for sketching as it is simple to handle and easy to erase. Mistakes
can be easily corrected and at the same time, keeps the drawing neat and tidy. Besides
that, pencils have different grades ranging from 9H to 9B. It is encouranged to test the
different materials first before starting the actual sketch. Choose the type of pen or
pencil that is suitable for the type of paper that will be sketched on.
The second step to produce an attractive skecth is to choose a subject. Choosing
a subject can either be easy or hard. This is because there are so many things going on
around us thus making us have too many choices to choose from. For example, when
2. sitting by the river we can choose to sketch the rocks by the river side or the tree that
stands out. It is advice to sketch an object that you're inspired with or feel attached to as
we would know that the subject inside out and in detail therefore, having the right
motives when sketching. Knowing that subject inside out will be an advantage of
producing a better sketch. As a beginner, it is better to start sketching small and simple
objects and learn from there. For example, sketching stationary objects like fruits,
animals or trees. One extra tip before sketching an object is to observe the object
carefully. Observe it from every angle. This is to ensure that we have a better
understandng of the object before starting to sketch it on paper.
The final step before starting to sketch is to keep relaxedand calm. Keeping
relaxed and calm will prevent us from feeling stressed up that will limit us from having
an open mind to have wild imaginations. Sketching should be a free flow action coming
from the process by observing the surroundings using our eyes, then interpreting it in
our brains and lastly expressing it out on paper. It's better to have a clear mind before
sketching so that we can let inspiration come to us to produce a more expressive and
attractive sketch. Try to loosen up and let creativity take control of your mind. We should
make full use of our God given gift, our eyes, to observe the details and different
perspective of the object. In addition, when observing the object we can also explore the
object by zooming in and out to understand and discover the object better. Lastly, don't
feel discourage by the outcomes. To produce an impressive and attractive sketch does
not come overnight but instead takes a lot of practice and experience.
In my opinion, an attractive sketch is a self expressing product drew on paper to
show another party of what we are trying to express and them understanding it. It is also
a way of expressing creativity of an individual that was inspired or was attracted to a
subject. For example, Vincent Van Goh got his inspiration of drawing and sketching
when he was a missionary in a mining region in Belgium. Last but not least, I feel that
an attractive sketch is also a way of expressing reality objects in a form of drawing or
3. art. In our 21st century era, we often use our digital cameras or DSLR to capture
unforgettable moments or even an object that we really like. Sketching is a beautiful art
and I hope that the beauty of it will not fade as nations and economy starts growing
lightning speed.
