Good morning. We are Diversity and our project is the multi-purpose bottle. This week, our presentation will cover the prototype development, market research on the prototypes, and the conclusion from the research.
This week, our group developed 2 prototypes from the first one you saw last week. I will briefly describe them.
Prototype A is a bottle with 2 drawers at the bottom for pills or sweets. The drawers are the areas indicated by the arrows. Follow the yellow area for an illustration of how the drawer mechanism works.
Prototype B is a bottle with a detachable side compartment for stationery or other such larger items. The side compartment are the areas indicated by the arrows. The compartment is detachable through the sliding mechanism: follow the yellow area for an illustration
The sliding mechanism is similar to that of this calculator. Imagine that this cover is the side of the bottle, and this is the compartment. So you slide it off to detach it. Now Kian Tat will tell you about the market research.
We did a market research on 50 people for both our prototypes to gather more information on our customer. Now I will share with you our findings.
From the market research, we can see that majority of the sample size feel that the pill compartment is functional. This is also the same for prototype B’s stationery compartment. As you can see from the blue area, in general, approximately 80% of the sample size feel that both our prototypes are functional.
Similarly, we asked a question about the practicality of both our prototypes, which is similar from the front. As you can see from the blue area, on average, 68% of the sample size feel that our prototypes have got practical usage.
From last week’s presentation, we felt a need to conduct a market survey for the water capacity for our product. From our results, majority of the sample size also feel that the optimal water capacity for both prototypes should be 500ml.
Since both our prototypes are popular among the sample, we have decided to merge both ideas.

Well, obviously that was just a joke. And, this is our real prototype and the water bottle of the century. It is able to contain both pills and stationery. The space between the bottle and the compartments created by the groove is significant enough to minimize problem of condensation in compartmentsThe groove function also allows the compartment to be detached easilyThe compartments are detachable when we want to wash the bottle and when the compartments are not requiredThe cover for the pill compartment will be as such, . The cover will drop down like this, as seen in tailboards of lorries. As for the opening of the stationery compartment, we have adopted the idea from the mathematical instrument box.
