1. Use of VINCA for domain keywords and argumentative markers extraction Analysis processes

2. Discourse markers related to argumentation and question Argumentative markers (van Boxtel, et al, 2000) can be used to identify some common speech acts associated with inquiry. It is expected that a higher concentration of argumentative markers is likely to indicate a stronger socio-metacognitive engagement and inquiry orientation in the discussion, and hence a higher probability for the discourse to be productive in terms of knowledge building.

9. Domain-specific topics and associated keywords and text pattern Domain-specific keyword patterns is an efficient means to capture and examine the content focus of a discussion. Based on concordanced listings of text patterns around high frequency keywords extracted from the notes posted in Knowledge Forum® (KF), a list of domain related keywords and word patterns categorized into several topic areas. These are then used by VINCA to code the presence of these content topics for use in the later analysis and visualization.
