     Aquatic Center Amenities
Zero Depth
Entry Play Area
The zero depth entry play area is a 3,986 sq.
foot area that is loaded with wonderful play fea-
tures for kids of all ages. A Tropical Fish Kiddie
Slide, a Multi Play System V, a dozen floor gey-
sers, an interactive water table, and a set of
water dump buckets greet you as you enter the
Aquatic Center. The depth of the water in this
area ranges from 0” in the entry area to 3’ at its
deepest end.


                                                     Diving Area
                                                     A three meter and one meter diving board as well as a 12’
                                                     Aquaclimb Climbing Wall challenge you as you enter the div-
                                                     ing area. This area is a 1,560 sq. foot area that ranges in
                                                     depth from 5’ to 12’. This area of the pool is open to adults
                                                     and children who have passed level 2 swimming lessons.


                                                     Plunge Area
                                                     This area acts as the drop site for two 31’5” high slides. The
                                                     first slide is a 42” Open Body Flume Slide that is 214’9” long
                                                     with the second slide being a 32” Enclosed Body Flume Slide
                                                     that is 143’4” long. Participants must be at least 48” tall to go
                                                     down the slides by themselves or they must be accompanied
                                                     by an adult. This area is 860 sq. feet and has a depth of 3’6”.



Swimming & Lap Swim Area
The 25 yard swimming area is a 3,292 sq. foot area with water
depth ranging from 3’6” to 5’. This area of the pool is open to
adults and children who have passed level 2 swimming lessons.
Non-swimming children or children who do not meet this
requirement must be in direct contact (within arms reach) with
an adult or person/supervisor 15 years of age or older. This per-
son/supervisor must be in the water with the child.




                                                             Lily Pad Area
                                                             The Lily Pad Walk is housed in a 355 sq. foot area
                                                             with the water depth ranging from 3’6”-4’0”. The
                                                             foam floatables which are anchored to the base of
                                                             the pool serve as a movable challenge for the partic-
                                                             ipants. Participants must be tall enough to reach the
                                                             top cargo net so they can make it to the opposite
                                                             side.

   The mission of the Redwood Falls Parks and Recreation Department is to provide quality facilities
and programs for all. Quality Parks and Recreation Programming enhances economic development,
community crime prevention, and adds to the quality of life for ALL residents and visitors of the com-
munity.

Community facilities and parks are used by citizens of all ages participating in meaningful recreation
activities. Facilities are well cared for due to a systematic plan for immediate care and crucial long-

                               Youth Ride Passes
                               Community Transit of Western Community Action is again
                               offering a $30 unlimited monthly ride coupon for students
                               up to 18 years old during the months of June, July and August.
                               These coupons can be purchased through the Western
                               Community Action office in Marshall. Just $30 per month, per
   student provides the peace of mind that kids arrive safely at all their summer activities,
   and relieves some of the stress of keeping up with busy summer schedules. Ride coupons
   are good for students to ride as often as they want during the month on all Community
   Transit busses. Rides must be prescheduled by calling between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30
   p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information or to schedule a ride, please call

Fitness Assessment Packages:
  • Marathon Package -
    $100/Session Non-Members & $90/Session Members
    The Marathon Package will include the following tests: Body Composition,
    Strength, Flexibility, Height, Weight, and Cardiovascular. The package is
    for 6-months, being assessed on Week 1, 6, 12, 18, and 24. Not only will
    you be having the assessments every six weeks you will also receive a
    meal plan and a workout plan. These plans will change every six-weeks!
  • Half Marathon Package -
    $70/Session Non-Members & $60/Session Members
    The Half Marathon Package will include the following tests: Body Composition, Strength, Flexibility, Height,
    Weight, and Cardiovascular. The package is for 3-months, being assessed on Week 1, 6, and 12. Not only
    will you be having the assessments every six weeks, you will also receive a meal plan and a workout plan.
    These plans will change every six-weeks!
  • In-Training Package - $30/Session Non-Members & $25/Session Members
    The In-Training Package will include the following tests: Body Composition, Strength, Flexibility, Height,
    Weight, and Cardiovascular. This package includes assessments by the time. No workout plan or meal
    plan is available with this plan.
                    Each assessment will take approximately 1-hour and must be scheduled in advance.
               Any cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment will be charged a $20 fee.




                                  PERSONAL TRAINER - POLLY BOWEN
                            Polly Bowen, RACC’s personal trainer, is available to help our members and
                            non-members reach their fitness goals, have a productive and time-efficient
                            workout, and feel comfortable working out in the Fitness Center. Polly will work
                            one-on-one with clients. Every session will be at the convenience of both client
                            and Polly. Polly has the proper credentials and is an avid exerciser. A session is
                            $20 per hour and you must go a minimum of two sessions. If you would like

      Indoor Golfing/Batting Cage
  Need a great off-season workout? No more hitting foam golf
  balls into a net or taking soft toss with a whiffle ball. Try out the
  Indoor Golfing/Batting Cage. The cage is a 70' long x 14' high x 12'
  double wide cage that can be used for live batting for baseball
  and softball players as well as live hitting for golfers. Participants
  are asked to bring their own golf clubs and balls as well as bats,
  balls, and helmets for live hitting. The cage can be used by 2 sep-

   The perfect class for finding success in a fitness routine. All activities in this class are completed in

       Redwood Area Gymnastics Academy
     Welcome to the Redwood Area Gymnastics Academy and to Coach
  Dean Wilson. Coach Wilson will be offering advanced gymnastics
  classes for girls and boys who wish to work on their gymnastics skills
  during the off season! Classes will be offered 3 days a week during the
  specified sessions below.
    The Academy is designed for those gymnasts that have prior gym-
  nastics experience. To participate in the intermediate group participants
  must be able to do a round off back-handspring on their own.

                                      Junior Rangers is an outdoor program for children to learn about all the environ-

 NATURE IS NEAT!
 Come explore, discover, examine, investigate, ponder, share, question, and most of all ENJOY the won-
 ders of nature! Much of the time our classroom will be outdoors and will involve hands-on activities. We
 will hike to the Redwood Valley School's environmental learning center, and also plan to meet at the
 Lower Shelter in Ramsey Park one day. (Date TBD) Topics may include animals, birds, trees, pond life,
 insects, and plants and flowers. If your kids are curious and like science, fresh air, and sunshine, this
 class is for them! Meet at the Children's Program-ming Room at the RACC. A complete schedule will
 be available the first day of class.

 Come run, jump, throw, and race your way to the finish line! Learn the basic skills of the standing long
 jump, sprinting, distance running, and the softball throw. This year’s program will be offered to boys and
 girls ages 6-14 and will be held at the Redwood Valley High School Track and Field. Participants ages
 9-14 will have the opportunity to participate in the District 2 meet in Worthington on Saturday June 15
 with winners advancing to the state meet on June 22 at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter; and the
 possibility of advancement to State and an all expense trip to the National Meet in Hershey, PA.

        The Redwood Area Basketball Association (RABA) provides a basketball program for
        boys and girls 4th-8th grade. December through March is considered “traveling season”
        for the Association. Participants will utilize skills developed in practice to compete in

    The Cardinal Youth Football program is back. Once again the

More Swimming Pool Information on pages 14-16 Redwood Falls Aquatic Center Amenities Zero Depth Entry Play Area The zero depth entry play area is a 3,986 sq. foot area that is loaded with wonderful play fea- tures for kids of all ages. A Tropical Fish Kiddie Slide, a Multi Play System V, a dozen floor gey- sers, an interactive water table, and a set of water dump buckets greet you as you enter the Aquatic Center. The depth of the water in this area ranges from 0” in the entry area to 3’ at its deepest end. Diving Area A three meter and one meter diving board as well as a 12’ Aquaclimb Climbing Wall challenge you as you enter the div- ing area. This area is a 1,560 sq. foot area that ranges in depth from 5’ to 12’. This area of the pool is open to adults and children who have passed level 2 swimming lessons. Plunge Area This area acts as the drop site for two 31’5” high slides. The first slide is a 42” Open Body Flume Slide that is 214’9” long with the second slide being a 32” Enclosed Body Flume Slide that is 143’4” long. Participants must be at least 48” tall to go down the slides by themselves or they must be accompanied by an adult. This area is 860 sq. feet and has a depth of 3’6”. Swimming & Lap Swim Area The 25 yard swimming area is a 3,292 sq. foot area with water depth ranging from 3’6” to 5’. This area of the pool is open to adults and children who have passed level 2 swimming lessons. Non-swimming children or children who do not meet this requirement must be in direct contact (within arms reach) with an adult or person/supervisor 15 years of age or older. This per- son/supervisor must be in the water with the child. Lily Pad Area The Lily Pad Walk is housed in a 355 sq. foot area with the water depth ranging from 3’6”-4’0”. The foam floatables which are anchored to the base of the pool serve as a movable challenge for the partic- ipants. These coupons can be purchased through the Western Community Action office in Marshall. Just $30 per month, per student provides the peace of mind that kids arrive safely at all their summer activities, and relieves some of the stress of keeping up with busy summer schedules. Ride coupons are good for students to ride as often as they want during the month on all Community Transit busses. Polly will work one-on-one with clients. Every session will be at the convenience of both client and Polly. Polly has the proper credentials and is an avid exerciser. RACC Special Activities Indoor Golfing/Batting Cage Need a great off-season workout? No more hitting foam golf balls into a net or taking soft toss with a whiffle ball. Try out the Indoor Golfing/Batting Cage. The cage is a 70' long x 14' high x 12' double wide cage that can be used for live batting for baseball and softball players as well as live hitting for golfers. Anyone interested in knowing what level to register for, please call the RACC. FOR ALL SESSIONS: Week 1 will be Monday-Thursday, with a make-up All swimming instructors day on Friday; and Week 2 will be Monday-Thursday with a make-up day on Friday (see are Red Cross certified information below for more details). Learn the basic skills of the standing long jump, sprinting, distance running, and the softball throw. This year’s program will be offered to boys and girls ages 6-14 and will be held at the Redwood Valley High School Track and Field. Participants ages 9-14 will have the opportunity to participate in the District 2 meet in Worthington on Saturday June 15 with winners advancing to the state meet on June 22 at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter; and the possibility of advancement to State and an all expense trip to the National Meet in Hershey, PA.
