you. After that, it's a balance between
the perceived reward from filling in the
survey compared to the perceived
effort that's required. Strangely
enough, if a reward seems 'too good to
be true' that can also reduce the
response.

  13. Obvious questions require no effort to answer. Interesting questions are rewarding to answer. Appropriate questions are ones that inspire trust in the respondent.

Possibly over simplification, but I’m not sure it matters.
