4. Uno/Una with compound numbers When uno/una form part of a compound number (e.g., treintay uno, cincuenta y uno) it becomes “un” before a masculine noun and “una” before a feminine noun. Treinta y unamujeres Cincuenta y un hombres. Noventa y unacasas Ochenta y un libros. Ochenta y dos libros.
