31—Starting here, numbers are not written in combined form.  Treinta y uno, treinta y dos format must be used.   Diecinueve (diez y nueve) Veintinueve (veinte y nueve) Treinta y nueve Cuarenta y nueve Cincuenta y nueve Etc.
Uno/Una with compound numbers When uno/una form part of a compound number (e.g., treintay uno, cincuenta y uno) it becomes “un” before a masculine noun and “una” before a feminine noun. Treinta y unamujeres Cincuenta y un hombres. Noventa y unacasas Ochenta y un libros.  Ochenta y dos libros.
