Vicente,Sabina and Cristeta. · Daciano

The rich Jew The snake.
This legend happened at the end of the Roman
 Empire( V- 5th century).
The Roman governor (he was called
Daciano ),with all his army persecuted some
people because of their religious ideas.
That is how the legend starts, Vicente, Cristeta
and Sabina didn´t want to sign one document in
which it was written that they believe d in the
Roman Gods. Like they didn´t believe in them
they came to Ávila escaping from Daciano.
·It happened in
Ávila.
· In this period Ávila
was a safe city,
because of its
location it was
situated at the top of
a mountain, and in
this way you could
see all around the
city. · There was a
river(Adaja) that
protected one side of
the city.
Inside S Vicente basilica there is a altarpiece ,
with images that tell and show the legend:

S Vicente was taken to
Daciano, he judged him
and he was sent to prison.
Their sisters went to visit One night
him to prison. He wanted to Vicente,Sabina and
escape from there. Cristeta escaped to
                              Ávila riding horses.
But they were They were tortured…
captured in Ávila by They died.
Daciano´s army.
One Jew went to see
                         the bodies and laughed
                         at them. God sent a
The souls of the snake who started
three brothers were drowning him. The jew
free.. And went with said to God: Please
the angels to the sky. save me and I will
                         believe in you.
The legend tells that after
                              that ,S Vicente basilica was
built, in honor to the three
                              martyr Saints,
                              (Vicente,Sabina and Cristeta).

The jew was saved by
God.He was baptized and
he built one tomb for the
bodies.
In my legend the villain is the rich jew.
He was the villain because he was cruel, he laughed at the
bodies of the Christian that were sacrificed.

He didn´t respect the different religions,he thought that
because he was jew, he was superior to the Christian
             people,he was disrespectful.
