My USANA RESET Challenge And How I Got Through It
This is me just 10 days before-At Christmas 2013.
Look how big I was when I started my weight loss challenge, I started RESET at 88kgs on Jan 6th
What I expected To Get Out Of RESET?
Not sure really but I suppose
I thought I lose some weight
Maybe drop a notch in my belt size
Feel a bit lighter in my tummy
Going in to RESET was just something I thought I do as I was feeling disgusted by the look of myself and the weight I was carrying.
Did I prepare for the RESET?
Yes I did prepare. We stocked up on the 5 Day Jump Start that USANA has for people keen to start. It’s a simple and convenient way to loose weight. The program takes away all the guess work of what foods to buy and then the question of portion sizes etc.
Everything comes in convenient packs with high quality nutrition as well as snacks. No guesswork!
Did I exercise in the 5 Days?
Going into the program was hard. I was so unfit that I could hardly walk 2 km and got exhausted quite easily.
Where we live its very hilly and that made it worst. But I tried my best to walk 30 minutes but a slow 2 km walk it was.
Did I experience any side effects
The only side effect I did experience was the detoxing effect that set in on Day 2. I started to get very bad headaches and it just would not go away. Knowing what I was going through I stuck with the program and allowed the products to work its way on my body. By Day 5 the headaches had gone and I started to feel so much better. Happy I preserved!
How much did I loose?
I lost 8.8 pounds or 4 kg in the first 7 days in the challenge.
In the first 5 days it was just over 7.7 pounds.
I put this down to the detoxing and the water content I was carrying in excess.
Did I find it hard to keep going?
Yes I did. Its only normal to do so.
But as I wanted to detox and loose weight badly I made a commitment. The first week was not so hard overall. Though I must confess Day 1 was the worse as the food cravings were real bad. As each day went by the cravings got less and less and I started to be more confident I may just be able to complete week one after all.

10. DID I KEEP NOTES OF MY JOURNEY?
Yes I did. I felt that if I kept a food journal for as
many days or weeks I would find it easier to
keep track of what I ate as well as the
quantities I ate too. The journal was one of the
yardsticks to what I gauged my eating on. It
kept me honest.
