What technology is available in the classroom?
Hardware:
How many computers/printers? What kind? There is one printer per department.
There are 24 carts of computers plus 2 math teachers have carts every day. Carts
consist of 30 computers. Either HP or chromebooks.
Do you have a built in television? VCR? There is a built in television but not a vcr.
Do you have a connection from a computer to the television or other projection
device? Yes, to a projector.
Do you have any cameras (WebCam, docCam, video, still, or digital)? I don’t believe
so
Do you have graphing calculators? Yes there are 20 available to the students.
Do you have a smartboard? No
Do you have a mimio? Yes
Do you have a mobi? Yes
Do you have a slate? No
Do you have LCD projectors? Yes
Are you able to use your own laptop for teaching? Possibly but I doubt I have as
much software available.
What other forms of hardware technology is available? Scanner, copier.
Software:
What applications/softwareare on the computers in your classroom? They have
GSP, software for the mimio/mobi and are purchasing Fathom.
Do they all have the same applications/versions? Yes
Do you have Internet access? Yes
Is there school-wide email? Yes
Is there school-wide learning platform for teachers, students, parents (e.g.,

Is there a system for installing software on school computers? Yes
What other forms of software based technology is available? I don’t know.

Hardware:
What is available for checkout from the media center? 24 carts of computers
Are scanners, LCD projectors, or digital cameras available? No
Is there a computer lab? How many computers does it have? 1 lab, 30
computers.

Are you on a network? Yes
Do you have access to a color and/or laser printer? There is one color printer
in the media center.
Are you able to do video conferencing? From the laptops I believe so. I don’t
think so from the desktops. I didn’t see a camera on them.

GSP, Fathom
What applications are available by request?I don’t know
Do other teachers or the media center have other forms of technology that
you can check out? What are they? No, teachers try to borrow what’s in my
classroom.
Does your media center have a video collection?
Do all computers have Internet access? Yes
What is the process for obtaining access to the technology in your school?
How often can you take students to the computer lab? How is the lab scheduled?
Most teachers don’t take their kids to the computer lab, they just get a cart for the
period and do it in their room.
Is the lab staffed? Do students have access to the lab before and after school, or
during recess/lunch? Students have access during RAP. It is staffed.
Is there a system for checking out software/hardware from the media center? How
long can you keep materials?
Who are the technology resource people in your school?
A technology liaison? No
Computer teacher? Yes, there are two computer teachers.
Media center staff? Yes
Various teachers or students with technology expertise? Yes most of the teachers
are good with technology.
