4. “…among the lampstands was
someone like a Son of Man, dressed
in a robe reaching down to his feet
and with a golden sash around his
chest. His head and hair were white
like wool, as white as snow, and his
eyes were like blazing fire. His feet
were like bronze glowing in a
furnace, and his voice was like the
sound of rushing waters. In his right
hand he held seven stars, and out of
his mouth came a sharp double-
edged sword. His face was like the
sun shining in all its brilliance.“

27. ~Do Not Love the World - Anti-environmentalism
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the
Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of
the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the
world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

28. Interpreting Jesus
What does our tendency to interpret Christ
say about us?
About Jesus?
Is interpreting Jesus necessary? dangerous? simple?
29. “And he died for all, so that those who live might live no
longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised
for them.
From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a human
point of view; even though we once knew Christ from a
human point of view, we know him no longer in that way. So if
anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has
passed away; see, everything has become new!
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through
Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; that is,
in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not
counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the
message of reconciliation to us.
So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his
appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be
reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who
knew no sin, so that in him we might become the
righteousness of God.”
