2. Mission statement
Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical
Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to
hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's
Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of
war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the
purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Our emergency relief programs provide desperately needed
assistance to victims of natural disaster, war, disease, and
famine. As we offer food, water, and temporary shelter, we
meet critical needs and give people a chance to rebuild their
lives.
3. Mission statement
Our community development and vocational programs in
impoverished villages and neighborhoods help people break
the cycle of poverty and give them hope for a better
tomorrow.
We impact the lives of vulnerable children through educational,
feeding, clothing, and shelter programs that let them know
they are not forgotten.
We provide first-class treatment in the Name of the Great
Physician through our medical projects, as well as supplying
mission hospitals with much needed equipment and supplies.
4. Operation christmas child
Operation christmas child is a
program that provides shoebox filled
christmas gifts to needy and
underprivileged children in 95
countries.
Last year 8 million children received
shoebox gifts thorough OCC.
OCC helps children feel they are
loved and not forgotten.
The logo is a shoebox gift with
wings, signifying how they give their
shoebox gifts worldwide.
5. Inputs
Much is needed for OCC to be successful including:
Donation of toys, coloring books, stuffed animals, school
supplies, and other items to be packed in gifts.
Volunteers to pack, organize, and ship gifts to the 95
different countries.
Leaders to practice the intellectual traits; integrity, humility,
fair-mindedness, perseverance, confidence in reason,
courage, empathy, and autonomy.
With the synthesis of all of these parts OCC is made
possible
6. Process
Donations of gifts are collected
at one of 2000 centers from
november 15-22 and brought
to a processing center
Once there, volunteers inspect,
sort, and box gifts to be
shipped out, they must infer if
the gifts should be for a girl or
a boy.
7. Output
The gifts are then shipped
out to a large breadth of
children around the world.
Volunteers travel to
different locations to
distribute thousands of
shoebox gifts to children
every year.
8. outcome
Children are given toys,
games, hygiene
products, and school
supplies.
They are also given
hope that someone
cares about them.
Children are taught
about gods love.
9. Community need
Children all over the world don’t have hope and love, it
may be because they are orphans or because they live
in poverty. Most don't know of gods love either.
through Operation Christmas Child children are given
that love and hope, and are shown gods love, even if
the giving seems insignificant to us, it might change a
child's life.
10. How does this link to Critical
Thinking?
Volunteers and leaders must plan ahead and problem
solve to make sure all the work is done accurately and
in a timely fashion.
They must also compare and contrast to deicide on
where to deliver gifts that would make the most impact
on children's lives.
The program inspires us to think outside of our
community to others in need.
11. How does think link to
Critical Thinking?
Operation Christmas Child also gets the children
receiving the gifts to think that there are people who
care and want to help, and this might inspire the kids to
make a difference in their own community, which can
inspire more people to get involved in that community.
12. How does this link to Critical
Action?
Operation Christmas Child inspires people to take
informed action by volunteering time and donating gifts.
Volunteers must make reasonable judgements and
evaluations while they inspect and pack gifts.
We must gather information on the places and people
we go to, to distribute gifts.
We must take actions to raise funds and donations to
make Operation Christmas Child a success
13. How do we compare?

15. Personal connection.
I Volunteered at a distribution center and enjoyed it very
much, its a great feeling being able to give to others in
the season where giving is most salient, it is also great
to think with empathy about others.
I am a christian so the values and causes that the
organization has are the same as mine, i believe they
are doing great work and help many people in need.
