5. Revolution
• Revolution is the process in which the Earth
revolves around the sun in an elliptical orbit.
Revolution causes seasons due to the
concentration of sunlight.
6. Rotation
• Rotation is Earth’s spinning on its axis. One
rotation takes 24 hours. When the Earth spins
on its axis it causes day and night for different
parts of the Earth. The axis is tilted at 23.5°.
This tilt causes the sun to be concentrated on
certain hemispheres on the Earth.
7. Orbit
• The orbit of Earth is in a shape called an
ellipse. When the Earth revolves around the
sun it causes seasons. The seasons change
depending on the position Earth is in its
orbit, and the concentration of sunlight over a
certain area.

Seasons and years. While it revolves it also
