Hypothesis
  Restaurants will require customer profile
information and statistical data to participate
          and/or share menu data.

Online Surveys
We posed this hypothesis to approximately 19
     respondents via an online survey.

Team Food Compass
78.9% (15/19) respondents to a survey indicated that they
  would be open to sharing their profile information with
restaurants and businesses, based on certain limitations or
                     preconditions.

21.1% were opposed to any information sharing. This data
indicates that there exists market acceptance for a system
  where customer referrals and access to customer data
      (directly authorized by the customers) will drive
     restaurants and business owners to participate in
        providing input to enhance customer needs.

10.5% of respondents agreed to share profile information
if it results in speeding up of orders. This is attractive to the
restaurant as it can help streamline their workflow to allow
  faster service. For example, having access to information
   on dietary restrictions can help restaurants pre-process
orders from the moment the customer indicates they have
                  "checked in" at the restaurant.

26.3% of respondents agreed to share profile information
 in exchange for promotions and incentives. Restaurants
   regularly offer meal discounts and special offers, and
having access to direct customer data based on incentives
allows the restaurant to target specific demographics, and
 qualitatively measure the impact of such promotions on
 sales. It may also help businesses offer special incentives
    to regular customers that are valued for their repeat
                          business.

26.3% of respondents agreed to share their dietary
 restrictions with the restaurant. This has mutual benefits
    for both the customer as well as the restaurant -- the
 customer gets an assurance that the restaurant is able to
   accommodate their requests, while the restaurant has
 direct access to previously unavailable data that can help
them streamline their workflows related to specific dietary
 restrictions, and/or expand their menu offerings to better
 accommodate clients that they were previously unable to
  service. These dietary restrictions include food allergies,
 vegan/vegetarian or religion-restricted diets, and medical
                     dietary restrictions.
