Presented at the CONUL Conference, July 2015, Athlone, Ireland by Fiona Tuohy, Maynooth University Abstract "A new website for Maynooth University (MU) prompted the Library to re-evaluate our methods of communicating with our users. While we were using social media and our website to promote our Library Information Skills Tutorials (LIST), events and exhibitions, databases etc, it became increasingly clear that the library needed to look at more exciting ways to engage students. This paper will describe MU Library's experience using free and subscribed software to produce animated videos and LibGuides and will provide a snapshot of the innovative tools currently used by MU Library including PowToon, Animoto and LibGuides. It will demonstrate the impact these new technologies have had on both library users and staff " Biography Fiona Tuohy is a Library Assistant at Maynooth University. She is part of the library's training team, delivering LIST sessions as well as Informatin Literacy Skills to second level students. Fiona has worked on a number of library videos including our orientation video and has created a wide range of animated promotional material for the Library.
