This document describes the RAFTS writing strategy, which stands for Role, Audience, Format, and Topic. It provides examples of how RAFTS can be used across different subject areas by having students write from a particular role for a specific audience and in a certain format about a given topic. The strategy aims to engage students by having them analyze information, synthesize their writing, and incorporate writing into various content areas. It also allows for choice and adjusting the skill level based on student readiness.
