This project is made for educational purposes only. The following project takes you through the main development steps of a middle size project. It is developed in Open Proj.
2. The aim of the project is to create an online
shopping website for a costumer that is
envolved in multinational trade.
The goal is to deliver a fully functional website
by the beginning of ferbury 2015. This gives us
2.5 months of working time.
3. Our team is made out of 8 members.
James Newman – Project Manager $50/h
Sebastian Bell – Project Analyst $40/h
John Stevens – Developer $20/h
Brian Haward – Developer $20/h
Luke Anderson – Developer $20/h
Andrew Williams – Developer/Tester $20/h
Michael Walter – Developer/Tester $20/h
Allan Chan – Developer $20/h
4.
5. Our main constrain is the human resource.
Having a team of only 8 members some of
them will have multiple assingments.
The project manager and analyst will have
assignments through the most part of the
project.
Some of our developers will be testers as well
Our second constrain is the budget as we have
to stay in the limits of a certain amount
($45000) including all costs
6. The First Part
In the planning and analysis the project manager and the analyst do most
of the work. This includes client meetings, schedule development,
documentation.
In the desing phase the entire team comes together in order to propose
solutions and develop the architectural foundation.
7. Building and testing phase
The building and testing phase is the most busiest part of the
project since it envolvs all of the team members working together.
As the building part progresses, the testing is also being done in
parallel.
8. Example of Parallel Work
In the last part of the project the team is devided into two groups.
Three are envolved in developing and the other three are doing the
testing as the development progresses.
Right at the end we have our entire team envolvedin the Overall Test
and the Client review
9. The project has reached its deadline and also
remanined within the costs limit.
Having a clear overview with the help of Open
Proj we have properly allocated all our
resources .
The risks involved were limited or almost
eliminated with the help of Open Proj because
we have made a reasonable estimation of the
time and cost limits.
