8. Simple Past
Use the simple past to describe finished actions
 We use the simple past to talk about a specific time in the past:
last year, last month, yesterday
Examples:
• She played with her cousin yesterday.
• He went to the beach last month.
• They visited their grandparents in Europe last year.

Use the past progressive to describe
an action that was happening but not
finished at the same time that another
action happened.
