Dining roomRei en Jaume School was founded in 1979. It is a public school and is just situated a few kilometers from Valencia in Xirivella. At the beginning the school was divided in many places around the city. But since 1995 we are at the present place.  We offer a bilingual Spanish and Valencian education since 1995 and we started to teach English as a second language since 1983. Students begin their education when they are 3 until 12 years old. The School comprises Infant and Primary education. In each and every stage different teaching methodologies are used to help students achieve their goals. We now have around 400 students.
Our school pretends to provide our students a broad and balanced curriculum in a safe and positive learning that encourages students to seek challenges.   Our main educational principles are: ,[object Object]
The whole school community, including families, must be involved in the educational program working together to make the school a better place
The underlying values of our school are: respect, honesty, responsibility, and cooperation
Every member of the school community needs a safe supportive environment and be motivated to preserve our world.
Learning should be progressive and constantly evolving so that students can meet the demands of a changing world.
It is important to help our students develop their physical skills and appropriate attitudes leading to a lasting healthy lifestyle.
 It is important for us to protect our own language, valencian, as a distinctive of our history and personality. The best way to do that is using it.
We understand celebrations as an opportunity to learn happily about lots of things.,[object Object]
we start on the tenth of September: At Christmas  we have from the twenty-second of December to the tenth of January. In  Fallas from fifteenth of March to the twentieth .  At Easter we usually have 12 days of holidays. In summer from the twenty-third of June to the tenth of  September By Elena
THE TERMS IN  MYSCHOOL! First term: We start on the 10th  of September. It  takes from September, October, November to December. It is the first term . And finishes the 22nd of December. Second term: from the 7th of January . It takes January, February and March. It is the second term. It Finishes between Fallas and holy-week . Third term: it takes April, May and June. it is third term. And finishes the 23rd of June and after summer holidays.  By Verónica
By Aitana EXCURSIONS TO NATURE In our school have excursions to nature: We go to the Albufera, a lake, to bird watching, and study the fauna and flora of a coastal area.  The Albufera is a protected natural park, Also we have to climb a mountain, the Rock of Ifach, in  4th  of primary to study the mountains area. In  6th  of primary, we canoeing in a river. This  is  l ‘  Albufera. This is the Rock of Ifach

The Albufera The Albufera is very important in Valencia. It is full of birds. The most common one is heron or the teal It is quiet, very beautiful and relaxing. I love the Albufera the Albufera is a place where people will have a great time
What we learnt through our visit ,[object Object]
In 1902, the Valencian writer Vicente Blasco Ibáñez wrote the novel Reeds and mud, which is a novel, set in the lagoon during the early twentieth century.
Its climate is Mediterranean, mild and humid. Its average temperature is 17.8 ° C. The average values ​​range from 11.5 to 25.5 in January and August.
Rice cultivation in the Albufera, the rice is an irrigated crop most characteristic and most traditional of the Albufera Natural Park. It is, in fact, the most important for agriculture in the area.,[object Object]
Some comments I had a great time with my friends, teachers etc. There we went by boat also we went to a traditional house of the large salted-water lake and we ate in the meadows area, it looked like a forest. Hello . In the photos : we are enjoying our visit, although it was a bit cool. The lake is very beautiful and I loved it, I also saw herons, it was great. I like it quite greatly but specially two things when we saw the fields of rice  & when we went to the beach and saw a big fish just caught by a fisherman

This is an activity we do as a task for the PE classes :Fruit day : healthy food The 6th pupils help and teach the 2nd pupils the importance of eating fruit on a diet in a funny way
Pears (peras, peres) Bananas (plátanos, platans) Pineapple (piña, pinya) Oranges (naranjas, taronges) Apples (manzanas, pomes) Strawberries (fresones, maduixots)
We helped to slice the fruit  We sat with them We helped to cut the fruit Here the sliced fruit Our teachers helped everybody
We taught them how to make a  fruit kebab
Finally, we ate the fruit kebab  in the playground
Our school teachers, when  the classes start they  vote the subject of carnival and fallas. In fallas each class, makes one sculpture related to the voted subject . Afterward all together  is an impressive falla. Each class, votes the best sculpture and this sculpture isn’t burnt. And finally we burn the falla and the party is over.   • 48. The peace dayand the tree day The peace day is a very special day. The school Together with the peace in the world In the playground By Silvia

Think of love ,peace and harmony don’t wars quarrels or having arguments The children wear a white shirt The symbol is the dove of peace We have got a drawing of the peace dove and we wear it as a neck lace The children go to the middle of the playground and say some messages planned in the class room. We do things together such filling a gigantic mandale in the playground with dyed salt or a theatre play about the peace and the forests based on an Amerindian legend ... The peace day is the 30th of January t the tree day is the 29th of January. We celebrate them together, This day we sing a song of peace ,learnt in the music class, altogether in the playground. It’s amazing. We thanks plants and trees for giving us oxygen, we plant trees or we take some dry branches and decorate them with peace or nature motifs A pine for the entrance.   • 50. This year we celebrated the century of Miguel Hernández the poet . We showed their life in pictures, we read and sang some poems and our teachers made a performance of his thoughts before writing some poems. The writers day
  • 51. As we were studying the climate in geography we decided to have a look at the weather in our e-twinning friends' towns.

  • 54. spring In spring it isn’t cold. The nature is Beautiful. In these pictures we see that there are lots of nature because it rains and then it is very sunny.
  • 55. winter In winter may be less of minus 8 degrees . In this photo we see dunes of snow . These dunes are not mountains but it snows so much that they are by themselves.

  • 57. summer In summer the weather is warm and hot. The sea water is at a nice temperature to have a bath.
