Where Are You?
The truth of who you are is expressed in your choices, your memories, your
intentions and expressions. You are as authentic in your expression of yourself as
your beliefs allow you do be. Perhaps you compromise. Perhaps you fear. You act as
you truly desire to act, speak as you truly desire to speak or do not do so based upon
these self-imposed confines you believe are true for you.
Your attitude and alignment regarding what you believe is "out there" shifts your
perception and consciousness. What you believe is real for you is only a subjective
perception of what you have been taught to believe. None of your beliefs are real.
They are as fictional as the storybook tales of your childhood.
The information you use to create your world view is bound in thought and feeling
fields embraced by the walls of your beliefs. These energetic fields of information
exist as invisible patterns in space resonating with what you are experiencing. If you
continue to experience the same actions repeatedly, it enhances your belief that your
experience is "true" and creates your sense of reality. As the habit patterns define
themselves in your life, they become your convictions and you base your life upon
this matrix. This blueprint informs your consciousness.
When you allow yourself this depth of freedom from concepts, programming and
belief structures, each moment becomes awareness; an understanding of
consciousness, of being perfect. Moments of being different and the same coincide.
Every action you take affects everything that is in resonance with All That Is in
compassion for yourself and all others.
Inhale the world's reality; exhale your blueprint. What you are doing is calibrating
your light in the exchange between what appears to be within you and without you.
Conscious calibration of light is consciousness. It is what you truly are. It is your
potential at birth, your present truth.
Just for now, let go of any feelings of doubt. Let go and trust the
universe to handle all details for you. Feel yourself let go of having any
particular outcome at all, trusting that divine wisdom is working for the
greater good, of which you may not yet be aware.
Beliefs and the Body
Absolute existence has no structure. It is without form or belief. The transformative
process that creates the two, then the three, then the four, etc. relies on the existence
of a dual world. Whether that reality is construed as being dual because of its
positive/negative charge, its up/down reference point, its black/white light source,
etc. makes little difference to the concept that to have anything more than absolute
no thingness, one must include a dual reality.
Beliefs create resonance or incoherence in your field. Because what you believe is
true in your reality creates the frequency of the wavelength that you emanate, your
belief system is responsible for the creation and maintenance of your field's
effluence. Your beliefs emanate from that which you know yourself to be as Source
in form yet become conditioned (filtered) by your immersion within mass
consciousness.
Defining Belief
The English dictionary gives the definition of the word "belief" as "something
believed; an opinion or conviction." Looking up the word "believe", it states: "to have
confidence in the existence of something without proof that one is right in doing so."
A belief system then is what you have confidence in without requiring proof that it
is correct. Every person alive has a belief system. This does not mean that they have
a specific religious, political or cultural belief. It simply means that there are
opinions and convictions they hold that they have confidence in without requiring
proof.
What is your belief system? Is there an actual system that you have confidence in
without requiring proof? Perhaps what you believe in does not equate to a system. It
might be a segmented selection of thoughts that you feel serve you. Do they? Do
your beliefs serve you . . . or do you serve them?
Beliefs, some people call them "faith", carry the connotation of a set of ideas that
support you. Do they? Or do you support them? By this I mean, are you afraid of not
believing what you believe? What would happen if you let go of the opinions and
convictions that you hold so dearly? What fear looms up in this asking?
Your belief system may not be a reflection of your personal truth. Do
you know what Your Truth actually is?
How Belief Works:
You are 99% space even though you appear to be physically solid. Yet envisioning
your body as no thing except space composed of dancing molecules of light
(photons) can be a bit difficult.
Between these molecules, even within the atoms that make up the molecules, are
immense areas of space. Within these spaces, light's wavelengths infinitely flow
carrying within their vibration your feelings, thoughts and actions.
Unlocking Your Beliefs
Ask yourself these questions about any of your beliefs:
1. Where did the belief originate?
2. Why do I believe it?
3. What do I feel when I think about not believing it?
4. Is fear part of this belief?
5. Does the belief serve my sense of inner peace or is it serving someone or
something else?
Ask these four questions of all your beliefs . . . everything . . . every single one of
them including what you claim to be your spiritual knowing. If you truly follow this
exercise to its foregone conclusion, you are going to find that 99.99% of what you
have confidence in can be traced to someone's need to be right and/or control.
Next:
Do something that makes you feel in control of your beliefs. Don’t sit around
making excuses about why you can’t do something, just give it a try. Be sure that
you choose a project that gently pushes your energy level – and more importantly,
one that you can accomplish. Stick to it until you finish.
Take stock of your life and choose one or two areas to focus on that can greatly
impact your future. Take action based upon your new belief(s). Whatever you do,
give it your best effort.
Think bigger and bolder. Daydream. See yourself in a new light. Create a collage of
your best self. Your aspirations. Your talents.
Do not confuse the present with the past. Remind yourself, in spite of past beliefs,
you are older, more mature, and wiser.
Accept that this is an awkward stage. Ask for patience and support from people who
are in your corner.
Energy = information
Information = energy
Information "has" energy. Energy "has" information. Energy is the power "in" the
information. Information is the "purpose" of the energy. It is teamwork = soul
(information) and spirit (energy).
All of this energy/information is comprised of and responds to human emotion
(energy in motion). Emotions contain information which is carried by the energy as a
carrier wave of the emotion's frequency. This is how you create with your feelings
and emotions. First you have a feeling and then you express it with emotion if you
are feeling it strongly enough. You are a creator within this ever-present medium we
are calling space.
Coherency
Signs of the End of the Age
3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us,
when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the
age?” 4 And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will
come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6 And you
will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take
place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against
kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but
the beginning of the birth pains. ( Gradparents from Olive Hill Kentucky)
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be
hated by all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then many will fall away and betray one
another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many
astray.
The Abomination of Desolation
17 Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house,
18 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak.
19 And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in
those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For
then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world
until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been cut short, no human
being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 23 Then
if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For
false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to
lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand. 26 So, if they
say to you, ‘Look, he is in the desert,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner
rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as
the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever the corpse is, there the
vultures will gather.
Daniel's "abomination of desolation" is a very familiar term to most Christians thanks to
Jesus' reference to it in the Gospels. At the same time, it is easily the least understood
major prophetic term compared to say the great tribulation, the mark of the beast or even
the 70th week. Most Christians have no clue what it is because the terms "abomination"
and "desolation" do not have the same significance to a modern Western reader as they
did to ancient Torah-savvy/Jewish audiences.
Location
Matthew 24:15-16 (ESV) — 'So when you see the abomination of desolation
spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place,...then let those who
are in Judea flee to the mountains.'
The usage of the term "holy place" in other New Testament passages corroborate that it
refers to the temple in Jerusalem (Acts 6:13; 21:28). If it was not already obvious by the
term "abomination" that, whatever it is, it does not belong in God's temple, Mark
confirms this: Mark 13:14 (ESV) — But when you see the abomination of desolation
standing where it ought not to be (let the reader understand), then let those who are in
Judea flee to the mountains.
As mentioned above, there are rules specified in Moses' Law about what is allowed in the
temple. Unless something is a holy object (like the ark of the covenant) or a holy person
(like a priest), it "ought not be" in the temple.
Visible, Standing Nature
The next clue found in the same above verses from the Gospels is that whatever the
abomination is, it is something that is visible or something people will "see" and also
something that can be said to be "standing." Since seeing it is a sign, the implication is
that the abomination becomes visible suddenly.
This clue could fit the abomination being a person, a statue or perhaps even a
building (except buildings do not suddenly become visible but are in a state of
incompletion while being built).
Who Does It?
Daniel's "70 weeks" prophecy is the source of the abomination of desolation prophecy
that Jesus quoted: (70 weaks?) 70 years?)
Daniel 9:26-27 (HCSB) — 26 ... The people of the coming prince will destroy
the city and the sanctuary. The end will come with a flood, and until the end there
will be war; desolations are decreed. 27 He [=the prince, Antichrist ] will make a
firm covenant with many for one week [the 70th week], but in the middle of the
week he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering. And the abomination of
desolation will be on a wing of the temple, until the decreed destruction is poured
out on the desolator." (7 years?)
The one behind the abomination is the "prince" who shall come from the people who
destroyed the temple.
Daniel 11:31-32 (HCSB) 31 His forces will rise up and desecrate the temple
fortress. They will abolish the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination of
desolation. 32 With flattery he will corrupt those who act wickedly toward the
covenant, but the people who know their God will be strong and take action.
The ones behind the abomination are not holy, but described as corrupting people against
God's covenant and pitted against people who know their God. Theories Contradicted:
Since the person doing the abomination (and cutting off the sacrifices—see below) is
evil, theories about Jesus Christ doing or being the abomination (and as we'll see below,
cutting off the sacrifices) do not work.
Sacrifices Stopped Concurrently
You may have noticed in the above two verses from Daniel that there is always
something else tied to the abomination: the abolition of animal sacrifices. The daily
oblation sacrifices were commanded in the Law of Moses to be done in the morning and
evening as part of the temple worship. Several prophecies even talk about them returning
in the future despite them ending long ago with the destruction of the temple in 70 AD
(Eze 40-48).
Yet, it may not be fully evident from the above verses that the abolition of sacrifices is
directly tied to the abomination being set up. In the third and final reference to the
abomination in Daniel, this is made evident:
Daniel 12:11 (HCSB) — From the time the daily sacrifice is abolished and the
abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.
We will see exactly what the 1,290 days refers to later, but for now it's clear that these
two connected events happen on the very same day, 1,290 days from something
else.Theories Contradicted: Any explanation of the abomination that does not happen
when sacrifices are ongoing and does not then end those sacrifices on the same day
would be contradicted, such as the Dome of the Rock theory, and most others.
Events Before and After – Revelation Parallel
The abomination of desolation is not some isolated event but is preceded and followed
by key events. Luke's Gospel and a parallel prophecy we will connect in Revelation make
this plain. Luke has a slightly different take on the abomination from the other Gospels.
While it tells us that the desolation is followed by people having to flee (like Matthew
and Mark did above), it also tells us what precedes the abomination:
Luke 21:20-21, 24 (HCSB) — 20 "When you see Jerusalem surrounded by
armies, then recognize that its desolation has come near. 21 Then those in Judea
must flee to the mountains!...
Not surprisingly armies surround and take control of Jerusalem right before her
desolation . Also not surprisingly, they do not move on but continue their desolation by
"trampling" Jerusalem for a certain period of time called the "times of the
Gentiles:"
Luke 21:23-24 (HCSB) — Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in
those days, for there will be great distress in the land and wrath against this
people. 24 They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the
nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled by the Gentiles, until the times of the
Gentiles are fulfilled.
That last part is key to find a parallel prophecy needed to break open the abomination
mystery.
Revelation 11:1-2 (ESV) — 1 Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was
told, "Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there, 2
but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the
nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months.
Thus, what plainly follows the abomination and end of altar sacrifices is a trampling of
Jerusalem by armies for 42 months.
Great Tribulation Tie-in
Whose armies could these be? If that 42 months number above sounded familiar, it's
because that is the same period of time that the Beast or Antichrist is to be ruling. It is no
accident that this is also the length of the ministry of the Two Witnesses who speak
against the Beast:
Revelation 13:4-5 (HCSB) — 4 ...And they worshiped the beast... 5 A mouth was
given to him to speak boasts and blasphemies. He was also given authority to act,
for 42 months.
Revelation 11:3 (HCSB) — I will empower my two witnesses, and they will
prophesy for 1,260 days, dressed in sackcloth.
By the way, if you had ever wondered what Luke's "times of the Gentiles" referred to,
now you can see it's talking about the ruling of Jerusalem by the Antichrist armies during
the Great Tribulation. The times last 42 months.
There are other tie-ins to the Great Tribulation. We have already seen earlier that the
abomination happens in the middle of the final or 70th week of Daniel. If you have
already proven the Futurist perspective is correct, then you know that the second half of
the 70th week is called the Great Tribulation. In six different verses that period is referred
to as either 3½ years, 42 months or 1260 days (Dan 9:27; Dan 7:25; Rev 12:14; Rev 11:2;
Rev 13:5; Rev 11:3). (The 1290 days end at the same point as the 1260 days/Great
Tribulation but begin 30 days earlier.)Theories Contradicted: Any theory that says the
abomination was completely fulfilled in the past.
"Abomination" Defined by the Bible
Although we still do not know what the abomination of desolation is, after all the clues
above, it is pretty clear that it will be an unprecedented event. To help with that, let us
find out what does "abomination" mean anyway? By leaving the Christian New
Testament comfort zone and studying the Old Testament and especially the Torah, we can
find out what it meant to the audiences of Daniel and Jesus who heard the term.
The word translated 'abomination' in Hebrew is shiqqus. It is heavily associated with
idolatrous practices as the Theological Workbook of the Old Testament explains:
shiqqus. Detestable thing, idol. This noun is always used in connection with
idolatrous practices, either referring to the idols themselves as being abhorrent
and detestable in God's sight, or to something associated with the idolatrous
ritual. Idols generally are referred to as an abomination (Jeremiah 16:18; Ezekiel
5:11; Ezekiel 7:20; 2 Chron. 15:8, etc). Not only are the idols an abomination, but
they that worship them 'become detestable like that which they love' (Hosea 9:10),
for they identify themselves with the idols....The 'abominable filth' of Nahum 3:6
is shiqqus. It seems likely that, since shiqqus is everywhere else clearly related to
idolatrous worship, the same would be true here.
It is important to recognize that by the use of such a strong word as shiqqus God
wants his people to recognize the extreme seriousness and wickedness of this sin,
however attractive and popular it might be. God's own people need to view sin
from God's perspective (Deut. 7:26).
Remember from all the passages above that the verbs associated with the abomination
require it be something that can be 'set up' to 'stand.' In other words, an idol.
The First Abomination Fulfillment
As covered above, Daniel contains three verses that talk about the abomination of
desolation. One of them (Dan 9:27) refers to the 70th week which is yet unfulfilled.
However, the second mention (Dan 11:31) is different from that. It does not fit the end
times but rather past times:
Daniel 11:31-35 (HCSB) — 31 His forces will rise up and desecrate the temple
fortress. They will abolish the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination of
desolation. 32 With flattery he will corrupt those who act wickedly toward the
covenant, but the people who know their God will be strong and take action. 33
Those who are wise among the people will give understanding to many, yet they
will die by sword and flame, and be captured and plundered for a time. 34 When
defeated, they will be helped by some, but many others will join them insincerely.
35 Some of the wise will fall so that they may be refined, purified, and
cleansed until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time.
Notice how the passage ends with an allusion to the fact that the defeat and purification
of the wise will continue until the time of the end. This means that what is happening up
until verse 33 is before the end times. As such, it is widely accepted that the passage
above refers to Antichus IV Epiphanes' re-dedication of the Temple to Zeus in 167 BC
and subsequent revolt by the Maccabeans as described in the book of First Maccabees.
As the same passage from Theological Workbook of the Old Testament says explains:
Antiochus Epiphanes, as prophesied in Daniel 11:31, and who is typical of Antichrist, set
up an altar to, and image of, Zeus in the temple. This is called the 'abomination that
causes desolation,' a desecration of the altar which destroys its true purpose. Just so will
Antichrist establish an abomination in the sanctuary, a demonic counterfeit worship
(Daniel 9:27; Daniel 12:11).—
This means that there are two separate abominations of desolation predicted in Daniel 9
and 11: one for the end times and one for a past time, respectively. (Daniel 12:11, like
Daniel 9 speaks of the end times abomination near the Great Tribulation, or 30 days
before to be exact since the Great Tribulation is 1260 days and the abomination does not
happen 30 days into the Millennium!)
The Second and Next Abomination of Desolation
Everything above points to a second, final abomination of desolation fulfillment being
"stood up" in the future by the Antichrist. If the first one, a statue of Zeus, was a
idolatrous worship statue (fitting the Torah definition of abomination), then we would
expect the next one done by the Antichrist to be the same. What will it be?
Revelation 13:14-15 (HCSB) — 14 He [the "False Prophet"] deceives those who
live on the earth because of the signs that he is permitted to perform on behalf of
the beast [the "Antichrist"], telling those who live on the earth to make an image
of the beast who had the sword wound and yet lived.
An image is a likeness or representation of something. When it comes to false gods like
Zeus or the Antichrist, it typically refers to a statue. But this is more than a statue. The
"image" of the Antichrist made by the False Prophet for all to worship has a "spirit" with
or in it that enables it to speak!:
Revelation 13:15 (HCSB) — He was permitted to give a spirit to the image of the
beast, so that the image of the beast could both speak and cause whoever would
not worship the image of the beast to be killed.
This speaking is no parlor trick of smoke and mirrors, voice projection or holograms.
This is a demon or fallen angel inhabiting the Antichrist image to animate it in big ways.
Although this level of supernatural power is not "permitted" today (or all the skeptics
offering big dollar bounties for proof of the supernatural would be broke), God will
permit it in the end times for the "strong delusion" that the Antichrist is God and worthy
of worship (2Th 2:11, 4). The setting up of the Antichrist image in the temple will
desolate the temple mount by commanding the statue to be set up for worship at the same
time that he halts another form of worship to the real God: the daily oblation sacrifices
(Daniel 12:11).
Only 144,000 Saved From the End Times?
The 144,000 are introduced right after the description of the 6th
seal great global
earthquake and the question of “who shall be able to stand?” through it (Rev 6:12-17).
The 144,000 are then introduced and sealed by angels with protection (Rev 7:1-8) just
before four more trumpets of trouble come. These take the form of various objects from
space, like Star Wormwood, which either impact or in other ways violently disturb the
earth (Rev 8:1-8:13). It is important to note that this entire series of catastrophes
from 6th
seal through the 4th
trumpet are pretrib, coming before the Rapture or the
Great Tribulation do.
At this point you probably see the problem I did. The 144,000 are the only ones
mentioned as protected while these earthquakes, meteorites, asteroids, fires, and tsunamis
smite the entire earth (Rev 6:12-8:13). Since there are maybe 2.5 billion Christians alive
today, 144,000 seemed like a ridiculously small number of people to receive God's
protection. How could only 144,000 of those “with the faith/testimony of Jesus” (Rev
12:17=14:12) be protected by God?And, more to the heart of the matter, what chance
do I (or you) have of making it into such a relatively obscure group?
This scenario was certainly hard to accept. I had to force myself to believe what it
seemed to plainly say. In fact, I still have an email I wrote to a Christian friend at the time
warning him if how important it was to study the Bible for himself as so few were going
to make it when the end times come.
Other Groups – Four In All
What I was missing then that I discovered much later was another group encompassing
righteous servants of God. This group was less prominent in Revelation and very cryptic.
In all, I found four different groups or outcomes that people alive today can find
themselves in when Jesus comes back. This was different than the popular Christian
teaching that there is just those raptured and those “left behind.”
The four groups that I found are:
The Marked
The Martyred
The Woman
The 144,000
Group #1: The Marked
Revelation 13:16-17 (HCSB) — 16 And he requires everyone—small and great,
rich and poor, free and slave—to be given a mark on his right hand or on his
forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark: the beast’s
name or the number of his name.
The easiest group of all to understand is the one subjected to something that Christians
dread: the Mark of the Beast. These are the people who take the Mark of the Beast at the
start of the Great Tribulation. When the Antichrist takes power for the final 3½ years, he
will turn the world into a completely controlled society. All will be required to worship
the Beast and his image or statue (2Th 2:4; Rev 13:15) or be killed. People without the
mark will be unable to buy or sell (Rev 13:16-17).
Group #2: The Martyred
Revelation 13:15 (HCSB) — He was permitted to give a spirit to the image of
the beast, so that the image of the beast could both speak and cause whoever
would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.
Revelation 20:4 (HCSB) — Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who
were given authority to judge. I also saw the⌊ ⌋ ⌊ ⌋ people, who had been
beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of God’s word,
who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and who had not accepted the mark
on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with the Messiah
for 1,000 years (baptised by the holy spirit?)
Group #3: The Woman
The next group is of great interest because, just as we saw with the 144,000 earlier, it
plainly receives protection from God during the end times events:
Revelation 12:13-17 (HCSB) — 13 When the dragon saw that he had been
thrown to earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. 14
The woman was given two wings of a great eagle, so that she could fly from the
serpent’s presence to her place in the desert, where she was fed for a time, times,
and half a time [3½ years]. 15 From his mouth the serpent spewed water like a
river flowing after the woman, to sweep her away in a torrent. 16 But the earth
helped the woman. The earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river that
the dragon had spewed from his mouth. 2010-2013 jan-june
Who is this mystery “woman” that God clearly protects from the Devil's attacks?
She is is introduced and portrayed in Revelation 12 in a very convoluted way.
Revelation 12:1-5 (HCSB) — 1 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with
the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of 12 stars on her head. 2 She was
pregnant and cried out in labor and agony as she was about to give birth. 5 ...she gave⌊ ⌋
birth to a Son—a male who is going to shepherd all nations with an iron scepter—and
her child was caught up to God and to His throne.
The Woman starts out in the sky as a clear representation of the constellation Virgo, or
the Virgin. The moon and twelve stars at her feet (and her birth of the obvious Messiah
man-child) identify her as the righteous of Israel per Joseph's dream of his family (Gen
37:9-10=Rev 12:1). The other reason for this sky scene is because it may be depicting
exactly what was in the sky when the Messiah was born.
Group #4: The 144,000
Finally we come to the group discussed first earlier: the 144,000.
Revelation 7:2-4 (HCSB) — 2 Then I saw another angel, who had the seal of the
living God rise up from the east. He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels
who were empowered to harm the earth and the sea: 3 “Don’t harm the earth or
the sea or the trees until we seal the slaves of our God on their foreheads.” 4 And I
heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 sealed from every tribe of
the Israelites:
After coming to understanding about the Woman, it now becomes possible to understand
the reason for the special protection of the 144,000. Obviously, if their mission were to go
to the protected place with the Woman during the end times, then they would not need
this special protection. We can be sure they do not go there but stay in the reach of the
Beast because of this passage:
Revelation 9:1-3 (HCSB) — 1 The fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star
that had fallen from heaven to earth. The key to the shaft of the abyss was given
to him. 2 He opened the shaft of the abyss, and smoke came up out of the shaft
like smoke from a great furnace so that the sun and the air were darkened by the
smoke from the shaft. 3 Then locusts came out of the smoke on to the earth, and
power was given to them like the power that scorpions have on the earth. 4 They
were told not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green plant, or any tree, but
only people who do not have God’s seal on their foreheads [i.e., anyone not
the 144,000 (and by extension, the Woman, who is also protected another
way)].
The locusts from the abyss are specifically prevented from touching the 144,000 because
of their special seal. Obviously if they were all in the wilderness with the Woman, no
special command would be needed.
Here's an additional verse that only later did I discover was about the 144,000:
Revelation 12:17 (HCSB) — So the dragon was furious with the woman and left
to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands
and have the testimony about Jesus.
Those who the dragon makes war on are not just normal secular people left behind. These
are righteous believers in Jesus just as the Woman also is. Of course, Satan will be unable
to touch them, too.
I believe the mission of the 144,000 (along with Elijah) is to warn the world of what is
coming (Wormwood and the Great Tribulation) and what to do to escape and to fulfill the
prophecy of Jesus that the Gospel of the Kingdom would be preached in the whole world
as a witness before the end comes (Mt 24:14). Since the entire world will be under the
ruthless totalitarian oppression of the Beast for the last 3½ years before the end, any
servants of God would need special protection like the 144,000 will have. In fact, right
after the second mention of the 144,000 in Revelation (Rev 14:1-5), we have angels
delivering three messages to be preached to the world, starting with the “everlasting
Gospel” (Rev 14:6-12). Since God has always delivered his messages to righteous men to
then deliver to the rest of the world, I expect the 144,000 will receive the messages from
the angels and do just that.
Rev 14:4 (HCSB) — These are they which were not defiled with women; for they
are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth.
(virgins= virgos?)
Right away we have indications that this is allegorical. The Lamb they follow is
obviously Christ, not a literal lamb. In modern use virginity can be applied to men, but
traditionally and especially biblically only women can have the status of being virgins.
(Men don't have hymens.) Plus, sex with women in general does not defile men so that
they must completely refrain from it to not be defiled (the context is not immoral or
premarital sex but all sex). Instead, the Bible calls sex very good, not a dirty or defiling
thing. Obviously, a non-literal spiritual meaning is intended here as well. In the Bible,
virginity (2Ki 19:21) is used metaphorically for righteousness while sexual adultery is
compared to worshipping idols (Jer 2:20; Rev 2:20-22). Therefore, the meaning of virgin
men following the lamb would be righteous individuals who follow the Word of God
directly instead of religious systems with man made rules and regulations that depart
from the word of God (which are the modern equivalent of man made idol worship that
adultery is compared to).
The 2 Witnesses of Revelation 11
The Two Witnesses are very similar to the 144,000 in how they have portable standalone
protection that allows them to be out in the Beast's kingdom serving as a witness against
him. The main difference would be a minor one in that unlike the 144,000, they have a
fixed post at Jerusalem. They are preselected to become martyrs at the end of their
testimony, 3½ days before the conclusion of the Great Tribulation on the Feast of
Trumpets. Although this sounds like an unattractive end to their witness, for them it will
be an honor to be accounted worthy to witness in this way (Act 5:41). Perhaps for this
reason also they will have the additional honor of being the first two among the dead in
Christ to be resurrected (Rev 11:12).
Teaching About Divorce
19 Now when Jesus had finished these sayings, he went away from Galilee and entered
the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. 2 And large crowds followed him, and he healed
them there. 3 And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful to
divorce one’s wife for any cause?” 4 He answered, “Have you not read that he who
created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘Therefore a
man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall
become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has
joined together, let not man separate.”
10 The disciples said to him, “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to
marry.” 11 But he said to them, “Not everyone can receive this saying, but only those to
whom it is given. 12 For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are
eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made
themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to
receive this receive it.”
Chapter Nineteen
Contents: Christ and the divorce question. Little children blessed. The rich young ruler.
Apostles’ future place in the Kingdom.
Conclusion: God Himself instituted the relationship between husband and wife, and
those joined together by the ordinance of God are not to be put asunder by an ordinance
of man, except for fornication. Nothing less than the almighty grace of God can enable a
man taken up with the riches of this world to get into heaven. Riches, if they are under
our feet, are stepping stones, but if upon our backs, are a curse.
Striking Facts: vv. 16, 17. It is not implied that Jesus was not good (John 8:46; 14:30),
but that He would not be called “good” by one who did not accept His deity, but looked
upon Him merely as a man (Master—“teacher”) and put himself on the same level (v.
20). As God (v. 17) He is the expression of all good.
Chapter Twenty 20
Contents: Parables of laborers in the vineyard. Jesus’ death and resurrection again
foretold. Ambitious requests of James and John. Healing of the two blind men.
Characters: Jesus, wife of Zebedee, James, John, two blind men.
Chapter Twenty-One 21
Contents: The triumphant entry. Jesus’ second purification of the temple. Barren fig tree
cursed. Jesus’ authority questioned. Parable of the two sons in the vineyard. Parable of
the house-holder demanding fruit from his vineyard.
Characters: God, Jesus, John, disciples.
flippant attitude of the people toward Jesus in His first presentation was due to their
conception of Him as expressed in v. 11. When He comes in power, there will be no room
for doubt of the fact that He is both King and Judge
Chapter Twenty-Two 22
Contents: Parable of the marriage feast. Jesus’ answer to the Herodians. Sadducees and
Pharisees.
Conclusion: The gospel call bids all to the great marriage feast. Some wickedly reject
Christ’s invitations. Some think to intrude in the rags of their hypocrisy (See Rom. 3:22)
but the humble gladly accept and are satisfied. It is not wit and reason that makes one
acceptable to God, but humble acceptance of His call and partaking of the feast He has
provided.
Key Word: Unworthy guests, vv. 8, 12, 18.
Strong Verses: 9, 21, 37, 38, 39.
Striking Facts: The invitation to the marriage feast first extended to Israel (v. 7), was
greeted with violence and the King fulfilled the latter part of the verse in A. D. 70. The
world-wide call then went forth (Matt. 28:16–20; v. 9) to “as many as would receive”
(John 1:12). The man without a wedding garment pictures those who think to be accepted
in their own righteousness rather than the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Rom. 10:1–3;
Isa. 64:6; Phil. 3:9. (AD 70= 1970?)
The Great Commandment
34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered
together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher,
which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love
the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You
shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the
Law and the Prophets.”
Whose Son Is the Christ?
41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, 42
saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The
son of David.” 43 He said to them, “How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him
Lord, saying,
44 “ ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,
until I put your enemies under your feet” ’? 45 If then
David calls him Lord, how is he his son?” 46 And no one
was able to answer him a word, nor from that day did
anyone dare to ask him any more questions.
The Synoptic Gospel Parallels with John Continued
The Gospel parallel charts are repeated here where necessary to give a continuous series
of references in canonical order for each of the four gospels. The bold type in the tables
indicates the verses in order for each gospel. For example, pericopes that are identical
except for the difference in bold type shows that the pericope in bold comes before the
other reference for the other gospel not in bold face. This is done so the person using
these synoptic Gospel parallels can scan down each Gospel's column, stopping only for
the bold references, to get all the references and Gospel parallels in order for each
Gospel.
Genesis 1:14...Joel 2:28-31...Colossians 2:16-17 speaks of parallels-foreshadows-
patterns-SIGNS (SIGNALS FROM THE LORD) in the sun-moon-stars-eclipses-
feasts-numbers-etc.

Abomination of desolation

  • 1. Where Are You? The truth of who you are is expressed in your choices, your memories, your intentions and expressions. You are as authentic in your expression of yourself as your beliefs allow you do be. Perhaps you compromise. Perhaps you fear. You act as you truly desire to act, speak as you truly desire to speak or do not do so based upon these self-imposed confines you believe are true for you. Your attitude and alignment regarding what you believe is "out there" shifts your perception and consciousness. What you believe is real for you is only a subjective perception of what you have been taught to believe. None of your beliefs are real. They are as fictional as the storybook tales of your childhood. The information you use to create your world view is bound in thought and feeling fields embraced by the walls of your beliefs. These energetic fields of information exist as invisible patterns in space resonating with what you are experiencing. If you continue to experience the same actions repeatedly, it enhances your belief that your experience is "true" and creates your sense of reality. As the habit patterns define themselves in your life, they become your convictions and you base your life upon this matrix. This blueprint informs your consciousness. When you allow yourself this depth of freedom from concepts, programming and belief structures, each moment becomes awareness; an understanding of consciousness, of being perfect. Moments of being different and the same coincide. Every action you take affects everything that is in resonance with All That Is in compassion for yourself and all others. Inhale the world's reality; exhale your blueprint. What you are doing is calibrating your light in the exchange between what appears to be within you and without you. Conscious calibration of light is consciousness. It is what you truly are. It is your potential at birth, your present truth. Just for now, let go of any feelings of doubt. Let go and trust the universe to handle all details for you. Feel yourself let go of having any particular outcome at all, trusting that divine wisdom is working for the greater good, of which you may not yet be aware. Beliefs and the Body Absolute existence has no structure. It is without form or belief. The transformative process that creates the two, then the three, then the four, etc. relies on the existence of a dual world. Whether that reality is construed as being dual because of its positive/negative charge, its up/down reference point, its black/white light source, etc. makes little difference to the concept that to have anything more than absolute no thingness, one must include a dual reality.
  • 2. Beliefs create resonance or incoherence in your field. Because what you believe is true in your reality creates the frequency of the wavelength that you emanate, your belief system is responsible for the creation and maintenance of your field's effluence. Your beliefs emanate from that which you know yourself to be as Source in form yet become conditioned (filtered) by your immersion within mass consciousness. Defining Belief The English dictionary gives the definition of the word "belief" as "something believed; an opinion or conviction." Looking up the word "believe", it states: "to have confidence in the existence of something without proof that one is right in doing so." A belief system then is what you have confidence in without requiring proof that it is correct. Every person alive has a belief system. This does not mean that they have a specific religious, political or cultural belief. It simply means that there are opinions and convictions they hold that they have confidence in without requiring proof. What is your belief system? Is there an actual system that you have confidence in without requiring proof? Perhaps what you believe in does not equate to a system. It might be a segmented selection of thoughts that you feel serve you. Do they? Do your beliefs serve you . . . or do you serve them? Beliefs, some people call them "faith", carry the connotation of a set of ideas that support you. Do they? Or do you support them? By this I mean, are you afraid of not believing what you believe? What would happen if you let go of the opinions and convictions that you hold so dearly? What fear looms up in this asking? Your belief system may not be a reflection of your personal truth. Do you know what Your Truth actually is? How Belief Works: You are 99% space even though you appear to be physically solid. Yet envisioning your body as no thing except space composed of dancing molecules of light (photons) can be a bit difficult. Between these molecules, even within the atoms that make up the molecules, are immense areas of space. Within these spaces, light's wavelengths infinitely flow carrying within their vibration your feelings, thoughts and actions. Unlocking Your Beliefs Ask yourself these questions about any of your beliefs: 1. Where did the belief originate? 2. Why do I believe it? 3. What do I feel when I think about not believing it? 4. Is fear part of this belief? 5. Does the belief serve my sense of inner peace or is it serving someone or something else?
  • 3. Ask these four questions of all your beliefs . . . everything . . . every single one of them including what you claim to be your spiritual knowing. If you truly follow this exercise to its foregone conclusion, you are going to find that 99.99% of what you have confidence in can be traced to someone's need to be right and/or control. Next: Do something that makes you feel in control of your beliefs. Don’t sit around making excuses about why you can’t do something, just give it a try. Be sure that you choose a project that gently pushes your energy level – and more importantly, one that you can accomplish. Stick to it until you finish. Take stock of your life and choose one or two areas to focus on that can greatly impact your future. Take action based upon your new belief(s). Whatever you do, give it your best effort. Think bigger and bolder. Daydream. See yourself in a new light. Create a collage of your best self. Your aspirations. Your talents. Do not confuse the present with the past. Remind yourself, in spite of past beliefs, you are older, more mature, and wiser. Accept that this is an awkward stage. Ask for patience and support from people who are in your corner. Energy = information Information = energy Information "has" energy. Energy "has" information. Energy is the power "in" the information. Information is the "purpose" of the energy. It is teamwork = soul (information) and spirit (energy). All of this energy/information is comprised of and responds to human emotion (energy in motion). Emotions contain information which is carried by the energy as a carrier wave of the emotion's frequency. This is how you create with your feelings and emotions. First you have a feeling and then you express it with emotion if you are feeling it strongly enough. You are a creator within this ever-present medium we are calling space. Coherency Signs of the End of the Age 3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but
  • 4. the beginning of the birth pains. ( Gradparents from Olive Hill Kentucky) 9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. The Abomination of Desolation 17 Let the one who is on the housetop not go down to take what is in his house, 18 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 19 And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand. 26 So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the desert,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. Daniel's "abomination of desolation" is a very familiar term to most Christians thanks to Jesus' reference to it in the Gospels. At the same time, it is easily the least understood major prophetic term compared to say the great tribulation, the mark of the beast or even the 70th week. Most Christians have no clue what it is because the terms "abomination" and "desolation" do not have the same significance to a modern Western reader as they did to ancient Torah-savvy/Jewish audiences. Location Matthew 24:15-16 (ESV) — 'So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place,...then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.' The usage of the term "holy place" in other New Testament passages corroborate that it refers to the temple in Jerusalem (Acts 6:13; 21:28). If it was not already obvious by the term "abomination" that, whatever it is, it does not belong in God's temple, Mark confirms this: Mark 13:14 (ESV) — But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where it ought not to be (let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. As mentioned above, there are rules specified in Moses' Law about what is allowed in the temple. Unless something is a holy object (like the ark of the covenant) or a holy person (like a priest), it "ought not be" in the temple. Visible, Standing Nature The next clue found in the same above verses from the Gospels is that whatever the abomination is, it is something that is visible or something people will "see" and also
  • 5. something that can be said to be "standing." Since seeing it is a sign, the implication is that the abomination becomes visible suddenly. This clue could fit the abomination being a person, a statue or perhaps even a building (except buildings do not suddenly become visible but are in a state of incompletion while being built). Who Does It? Daniel's "70 weeks" prophecy is the source of the abomination of desolation prophecy that Jesus quoted: (70 weaks?) 70 years?) Daniel 9:26-27 (HCSB) — 26 ... The people of the coming prince will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come with a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations are decreed. 27 He [=the prince, Antichrist ] will make a firm covenant with many for one week [the 70th week], but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering. And the abomination of desolation will be on a wing of the temple, until the decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator." (7 years?) The one behind the abomination is the "prince" who shall come from the people who destroyed the temple. Daniel 11:31-32 (HCSB) 31 His forces will rise up and desecrate the temple fortress. They will abolish the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination of desolation. 32 With flattery he will corrupt those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will be strong and take action. The ones behind the abomination are not holy, but described as corrupting people against God's covenant and pitted against people who know their God. Theories Contradicted: Since the person doing the abomination (and cutting off the sacrifices—see below) is evil, theories about Jesus Christ doing or being the abomination (and as we'll see below, cutting off the sacrifices) do not work. Sacrifices Stopped Concurrently You may have noticed in the above two verses from Daniel that there is always something else tied to the abomination: the abolition of animal sacrifices. The daily oblation sacrifices were commanded in the Law of Moses to be done in the morning and evening as part of the temple worship. Several prophecies even talk about them returning in the future despite them ending long ago with the destruction of the temple in 70 AD (Eze 40-48). Yet, it may not be fully evident from the above verses that the abolition of sacrifices is directly tied to the abomination being set up. In the third and final reference to the abomination in Daniel, this is made evident: Daniel 12:11 (HCSB) — From the time the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. We will see exactly what the 1,290 days refers to later, but for now it's clear that these two connected events happen on the very same day, 1,290 days from something else.Theories Contradicted: Any explanation of the abomination that does not happen when sacrifices are ongoing and does not then end those sacrifices on the same day
  • 6. would be contradicted, such as the Dome of the Rock theory, and most others. Events Before and After – Revelation Parallel The abomination of desolation is not some isolated event but is preceded and followed by key events. Luke's Gospel and a parallel prophecy we will connect in Revelation make this plain. Luke has a slightly different take on the abomination from the other Gospels. While it tells us that the desolation is followed by people having to flee (like Matthew and Mark did above), it also tells us what precedes the abomination: Luke 21:20-21, 24 (HCSB) — 20 "When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that its desolation has come near. 21 Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains!... Not surprisingly armies surround and take control of Jerusalem right before her desolation . Also not surprisingly, they do not move on but continue their desolation by "trampling" Jerusalem for a certain period of time called the "times of the Gentiles:" Luke 21:23-24 (HCSB) — Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days, for there will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. 24 They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. That last part is key to find a parallel prophecy needed to break open the abomination mystery. Revelation 11:1-2 (ESV) — 1 Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told, "Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there, 2 but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months. Thus, what plainly follows the abomination and end of altar sacrifices is a trampling of Jerusalem by armies for 42 months. Great Tribulation Tie-in Whose armies could these be? If that 42 months number above sounded familiar, it's because that is the same period of time that the Beast or Antichrist is to be ruling. It is no accident that this is also the length of the ministry of the Two Witnesses who speak against the Beast: Revelation 13:4-5 (HCSB) — 4 ...And they worshiped the beast... 5 A mouth was given to him to speak boasts and blasphemies. He was also given authority to act, for 42 months. Revelation 11:3 (HCSB) — I will empower my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, dressed in sackcloth. By the way, if you had ever wondered what Luke's "times of the Gentiles" referred to, now you can see it's talking about the ruling of Jerusalem by the Antichrist armies during the Great Tribulation. The times last 42 months. There are other tie-ins to the Great Tribulation. We have already seen earlier that the
  • 7. abomination happens in the middle of the final or 70th week of Daniel. If you have already proven the Futurist perspective is correct, then you know that the second half of the 70th week is called the Great Tribulation. In six different verses that period is referred to as either 3½ years, 42 months or 1260 days (Dan 9:27; Dan 7:25; Rev 12:14; Rev 11:2; Rev 13:5; Rev 11:3). (The 1290 days end at the same point as the 1260 days/Great Tribulation but begin 30 days earlier.)Theories Contradicted: Any theory that says the abomination was completely fulfilled in the past. "Abomination" Defined by the Bible Although we still do not know what the abomination of desolation is, after all the clues above, it is pretty clear that it will be an unprecedented event. To help with that, let us find out what does "abomination" mean anyway? By leaving the Christian New Testament comfort zone and studying the Old Testament and especially the Torah, we can find out what it meant to the audiences of Daniel and Jesus who heard the term. The word translated 'abomination' in Hebrew is shiqqus. It is heavily associated with idolatrous practices as the Theological Workbook of the Old Testament explains: shiqqus. Detestable thing, idol. This noun is always used in connection with idolatrous practices, either referring to the idols themselves as being abhorrent and detestable in God's sight, or to something associated with the idolatrous ritual. Idols generally are referred to as an abomination (Jeremiah 16:18; Ezekiel 5:11; Ezekiel 7:20; 2 Chron. 15:8, etc). Not only are the idols an abomination, but they that worship them 'become detestable like that which they love' (Hosea 9:10), for they identify themselves with the idols....The 'abominable filth' of Nahum 3:6 is shiqqus. It seems likely that, since shiqqus is everywhere else clearly related to idolatrous worship, the same would be true here. It is important to recognize that by the use of such a strong word as shiqqus God wants his people to recognize the extreme seriousness and wickedness of this sin, however attractive and popular it might be. God's own people need to view sin from God's perspective (Deut. 7:26). Remember from all the passages above that the verbs associated with the abomination require it be something that can be 'set up' to 'stand.' In other words, an idol. The First Abomination Fulfillment As covered above, Daniel contains three verses that talk about the abomination of desolation. One of them (Dan 9:27) refers to the 70th week which is yet unfulfilled. However, the second mention (Dan 11:31) is different from that. It does not fit the end times but rather past times: Daniel 11:31-35 (HCSB) — 31 His forces will rise up and desecrate the temple fortress. They will abolish the daily sacrifice and set up the abomination of desolation. 32 With flattery he will corrupt those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will be strong and take action. 33 Those who are wise among the people will give understanding to many, yet they will die by sword and flame, and be captured and plundered for a time. 34 When defeated, they will be helped by some, but many others will join them insincerely.
  • 8. 35 Some of the wise will fall so that they may be refined, purified, and cleansed until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time. Notice how the passage ends with an allusion to the fact that the defeat and purification of the wise will continue until the time of the end. This means that what is happening up until verse 33 is before the end times. As such, it is widely accepted that the passage above refers to Antichus IV Epiphanes' re-dedication of the Temple to Zeus in 167 BC and subsequent revolt by the Maccabeans as described in the book of First Maccabees. As the same passage from Theological Workbook of the Old Testament says explains: Antiochus Epiphanes, as prophesied in Daniel 11:31, and who is typical of Antichrist, set up an altar to, and image of, Zeus in the temple. This is called the 'abomination that causes desolation,' a desecration of the altar which destroys its true purpose. Just so will Antichrist establish an abomination in the sanctuary, a demonic counterfeit worship (Daniel 9:27; Daniel 12:11).— This means that there are two separate abominations of desolation predicted in Daniel 9 and 11: one for the end times and one for a past time, respectively. (Daniel 12:11, like Daniel 9 speaks of the end times abomination near the Great Tribulation, or 30 days before to be exact since the Great Tribulation is 1260 days and the abomination does not happen 30 days into the Millennium!) The Second and Next Abomination of Desolation Everything above points to a second, final abomination of desolation fulfillment being "stood up" in the future by the Antichrist. If the first one, a statue of Zeus, was a idolatrous worship statue (fitting the Torah definition of abomination), then we would expect the next one done by the Antichrist to be the same. What will it be? Revelation 13:14-15 (HCSB) — 14 He [the "False Prophet"] deceives those who live on the earth because of the signs that he is permitted to perform on behalf of the beast [the "Antichrist"], telling those who live on the earth to make an image of the beast who had the sword wound and yet lived. An image is a likeness or representation of something. When it comes to false gods like Zeus or the Antichrist, it typically refers to a statue. But this is more than a statue. The "image" of the Antichrist made by the False Prophet for all to worship has a "spirit" with or in it that enables it to speak!: Revelation 13:15 (HCSB) — He was permitted to give a spirit to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast could both speak and cause whoever would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. This speaking is no parlor trick of smoke and mirrors, voice projection or holograms. This is a demon or fallen angel inhabiting the Antichrist image to animate it in big ways. Although this level of supernatural power is not "permitted" today (or all the skeptics offering big dollar bounties for proof of the supernatural would be broke), God will permit it in the end times for the "strong delusion" that the Antichrist is God and worthy of worship (2Th 2:11, 4). The setting up of the Antichrist image in the temple will desolate the temple mount by commanding the statue to be set up for worship at the same time that he halts another form of worship to the real God: the daily oblation sacrifices (Daniel 12:11).
  • 9. Only 144,000 Saved From the End Times? The 144,000 are introduced right after the description of the 6th seal great global earthquake and the question of “who shall be able to stand?” through it (Rev 6:12-17). The 144,000 are then introduced and sealed by angels with protection (Rev 7:1-8) just before four more trumpets of trouble come. These take the form of various objects from space, like Star Wormwood, which either impact or in other ways violently disturb the earth (Rev 8:1-8:13). It is important to note that this entire series of catastrophes from 6th seal through the 4th trumpet are pretrib, coming before the Rapture or the Great Tribulation do. At this point you probably see the problem I did. The 144,000 are the only ones mentioned as protected while these earthquakes, meteorites, asteroids, fires, and tsunamis smite the entire earth (Rev 6:12-8:13). Since there are maybe 2.5 billion Christians alive today, 144,000 seemed like a ridiculously small number of people to receive God's protection. How could only 144,000 of those “with the faith/testimony of Jesus” (Rev 12:17=14:12) be protected by God?And, more to the heart of the matter, what chance do I (or you) have of making it into such a relatively obscure group? This scenario was certainly hard to accept. I had to force myself to believe what it seemed to plainly say. In fact, I still have an email I wrote to a Christian friend at the time warning him if how important it was to study the Bible for himself as so few were going to make it when the end times come. Other Groups – Four In All What I was missing then that I discovered much later was another group encompassing righteous servants of God. This group was less prominent in Revelation and very cryptic. In all, I found four different groups or outcomes that people alive today can find themselves in when Jesus comes back. This was different than the popular Christian teaching that there is just those raptured and those “left behind.” The four groups that I found are: The Marked The Martyred The Woman The 144,000 Group #1: The Marked Revelation 13:16-17 (HCSB) — 16 And he requires everyone—small and great, rich and poor, free and slave—to be given a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark: the beast’s name or the number of his name. The easiest group of all to understand is the one subjected to something that Christians dread: the Mark of the Beast. These are the people who take the Mark of the Beast at the start of the Great Tribulation. When the Antichrist takes power for the final 3½ years, he will turn the world into a completely controlled society. All will be required to worship
  • 10. the Beast and his image or statue (2Th 2:4; Rev 13:15) or be killed. People without the mark will be unable to buy or sell (Rev 13:16-17). Group #2: The Martyred Revelation 13:15 (HCSB) — He was permitted to give a spirit to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast could both speak and cause whoever would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. Revelation 20:4 (HCSB) — Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given authority to judge. I also saw the⌊ ⌋ ⌊ ⌋ people, who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of God’s word, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and who had not accepted the mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with the Messiah for 1,000 years (baptised by the holy spirit?) Group #3: The Woman The next group is of great interest because, just as we saw with the 144,000 earlier, it plainly receives protection from God during the end times events: Revelation 12:13-17 (HCSB) — 13 When the dragon saw that he had been thrown to earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. 14 The woman was given two wings of a great eagle, so that she could fly from the serpent’s presence to her place in the desert, where she was fed for a time, times, and half a time [3½ years]. 15 From his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river flowing after the woman, to sweep her away in a torrent. 16 But the earth helped the woman. The earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river that the dragon had spewed from his mouth. 2010-2013 jan-june Who is this mystery “woman” that God clearly protects from the Devil's attacks? She is is introduced and portrayed in Revelation 12 in a very convoluted way. Revelation 12:1-5 (HCSB) — 1 A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of 12 stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in labor and agony as she was about to give birth. 5 ...she gave⌊ ⌋ birth to a Son—a male who is going to shepherd all nations with an iron scepter—and her child was caught up to God and to His throne. The Woman starts out in the sky as a clear representation of the constellation Virgo, or the Virgin. The moon and twelve stars at her feet (and her birth of the obvious Messiah man-child) identify her as the righteous of Israel per Joseph's dream of his family (Gen 37:9-10=Rev 12:1). The other reason for this sky scene is because it may be depicting exactly what was in the sky when the Messiah was born. Group #4: The 144,000 Finally we come to the group discussed first earlier: the 144,000. Revelation 7:2-4 (HCSB) — 2 Then I saw another angel, who had the seal of the living God rise up from the east. He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels who were empowered to harm the earth and the sea: 3 “Don’t harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we seal the slaves of our God on their foreheads.” 4 And I
  • 11. heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 sealed from every tribe of the Israelites: After coming to understanding about the Woman, it now becomes possible to understand the reason for the special protection of the 144,000. Obviously, if their mission were to go to the protected place with the Woman during the end times, then they would not need this special protection. We can be sure they do not go there but stay in the reach of the Beast because of this passage: Revelation 9:1-3 (HCSB) — 1 The fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from heaven to earth. The key to the shaft of the abyss was given to him. 2 He opened the shaft of the abyss, and smoke came up out of the shaft like smoke from a great furnace so that the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the shaft. 3 Then locusts came out of the smoke on to the earth, and power was given to them like the power that scorpions have on the earth. 4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green plant, or any tree, but only people who do not have God’s seal on their foreheads [i.e., anyone not the 144,000 (and by extension, the Woman, who is also protected another way)]. The locusts from the abyss are specifically prevented from touching the 144,000 because of their special seal. Obviously if they were all in the wilderness with the Woman, no special command would be needed. Here's an additional verse that only later did I discover was about the 144,000: Revelation 12:17 (HCSB) — So the dragon was furious with the woman and left to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and have the testimony about Jesus. Those who the dragon makes war on are not just normal secular people left behind. These are righteous believers in Jesus just as the Woman also is. Of course, Satan will be unable to touch them, too. I believe the mission of the 144,000 (along with Elijah) is to warn the world of what is coming (Wormwood and the Great Tribulation) and what to do to escape and to fulfill the prophecy of Jesus that the Gospel of the Kingdom would be preached in the whole world as a witness before the end comes (Mt 24:14). Since the entire world will be under the ruthless totalitarian oppression of the Beast for the last 3½ years before the end, any servants of God would need special protection like the 144,000 will have. In fact, right after the second mention of the 144,000 in Revelation (Rev 14:1-5), we have angels delivering three messages to be preached to the world, starting with the “everlasting Gospel” (Rev 14:6-12). Since God has always delivered his messages to righteous men to then deliver to the rest of the world, I expect the 144,000 will receive the messages from the angels and do just that. Rev 14:4 (HCSB) — These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. (virgins= virgos?) Right away we have indications that this is allegorical. The Lamb they follow is obviously Christ, not a literal lamb. In modern use virginity can be applied to men, but
  • 12. traditionally and especially biblically only women can have the status of being virgins. (Men don't have hymens.) Plus, sex with women in general does not defile men so that they must completely refrain from it to not be defiled (the context is not immoral or premarital sex but all sex). Instead, the Bible calls sex very good, not a dirty or defiling thing. Obviously, a non-literal spiritual meaning is intended here as well. In the Bible, virginity (2Ki 19:21) is used metaphorically for righteousness while sexual adultery is compared to worshipping idols (Jer 2:20; Rev 2:20-22). Therefore, the meaning of virgin men following the lamb would be righteous individuals who follow the Word of God directly instead of religious systems with man made rules and regulations that depart from the word of God (which are the modern equivalent of man made idol worship that adultery is compared to). The 2 Witnesses of Revelation 11 The Two Witnesses are very similar to the 144,000 in how they have portable standalone protection that allows them to be out in the Beast's kingdom serving as a witness against him. The main difference would be a minor one in that unlike the 144,000, they have a fixed post at Jerusalem. They are preselected to become martyrs at the end of their testimony, 3½ days before the conclusion of the Great Tribulation on the Feast of Trumpets. Although this sounds like an unattractive end to their witness, for them it will be an honor to be accounted worthy to witness in this way (Act 5:41). Perhaps for this reason also they will have the additional honor of being the first two among the dead in Christ to be resurrected (Rev 11:12). Teaching About Divorce 19 Now when Jesus had finished these sayings, he went away from Galilee and entered the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. 2 And large crowds followed him, and he healed them there. 3 And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful to divorce one’s wife for any cause?” 4 He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” 10 The disciples said to him, “If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.” 11 But he said to them, “Not everyone can receive this saying, but only those to whom it is given. 12 For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it.” Chapter Nineteen Contents: Christ and the divorce question. Little children blessed. The rich young ruler. Apostles’ future place in the Kingdom. Conclusion: God Himself instituted the relationship between husband and wife, and those joined together by the ordinance of God are not to be put asunder by an ordinance of man, except for fornication. Nothing less than the almighty grace of God can enable a man taken up with the riches of this world to get into heaven. Riches, if they are under

It is not implied that Jesus was not good (John 8:46; 14:30), but that He would not be called “good” by one who did not accept His deity, but looked upon Him merely as a man (Master—“teacher”) and put himself on the same level (v. 20). As God (v. 17) He is the expression of all good. Chapter Twenty 20 Contents: Parables of laborers in the vineyard. Jesus’ death and resurrection again foretold. Ambitious requests of James and John. Characters: God, Jesus, John, disciples. flippant attitude of the people toward Jesus in His first presentation was due to their conception of Him as expressed in v. 11. When He comes in power, there will be no room for doubt of the fact that He is both King and Judge Chapter Twenty-Two 22 Contents: Parable of the marriage feast. Jesus’ answer to the Herodians. Sadducees and Pharisees. Conclusion: The gospel call bids all to the great marriage feast. Some wickedly reject Christ’s invitations. Some think to intrude in the rags of their hypocrisy (See Rom. 3:22) but the humble gladly accept and are satisfied. It is not wit and reason that makes one acceptable to God, but humble acceptance of His call and partaking of the feast He has provided. Key Word: Unworthy guests, vv. 8, 12, 18. Strong Verses: 9, 21, 37, 38, 39. Striking Facts: The invitation to the marriage feast first extended to Israel (v. 7), was greeted with violence and the King fulfilled the latter part of the verse in A. D. 70. The world-wide call then went forth (Matt. 28:16–20; v. 9) to “as many as would receive” (John 1:12). The man without a wedding garment pictures those who think to be accepted in their own righteousness rather than the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Rom. 10:1–3; Isa. 64:6; Phil. 3:9. (AD 70= 1970?) The Great Commandment 34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
  • 14. Whose Son Is the Christ? 41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, 42 saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.” 43 He said to them, “How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying, 44 “ ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet” ’? 45 If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?” 46 And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions. The Synoptic Gospel Parallels with John Continued The Gospel parallel charts are repeated here where necessary to give a continuous series of references in canonical order for each of the four gospels. The bold type in the tables indicates the verses in order for each gospel. For example, pericopes that are identical except for the difference in bold type shows that the pericope in bold comes before the other reference for the other gospel not in bold face. This is done so the person using these synoptic Gospel parallels can scan down each Gospel's column, stopping only for the bold references, to get all the references and Gospel parallels in order for each Gospel.
