Short-term plans:
1. Adjustment of fertilizer rates in Scenario 2 to 4 in all platforms:
Currently not considered:
• Nutrient cycling by residue return (app. 10 to 17 t ha-1 yr-1)
• Possible higher leaching losses by improved infiltration through CA
Nutrient balancing: Estimates or processing of plant samples from
platforms?
Identification of nutrient deficiencies
• Possible micronutrient requirements
• Possible antagonistic effects by high K inputs by residues: Mg, etc.

Short-term plans:
2. Reestablishment of omission plots in platform scenarios:
• Omission plot locations were not altered after each crop
3. Closing of current Tamil Nadu platform and relocation:
• Problems with data availability and quality
• Current platform site suboptimal for non-rice crops
What should be changed:
• Closer proximity to CSISA hub
• Lighter textured soil that allows
- CA-based mechanization options other than mechanical transplanting
- Integration of non-rice cereal and legume crops

What should be changed:
• Strong emphasis on future water shortages:

- Non-rice summer season crops

with progressive farmers
