The 2015 Suzuki Jimny Sierra Review
– Is it Worth a Buy?
Of the many small SUVs prevailing in the market, the Suzuki Jimny
Sierra is one of the most preferred few four wheelers. In the market
since 1998 Suzuki Jimny Sierra has seen a number of updates down the
year, the latest being the 2015 model that comes equipped with
electronic stability control.
With the addition of this potentially
life-saving technology, the 2015
version also comes with some
minimum styling tweaks. This
includes new 15-inch wheels, better
interior treatments, advanced
instrument cluster and a new
steering-wheel that has improved
and trimmed seats.
FEATURES
Apart from these features, the rest of the car remains the same as that
of the existing 2000 model. In fact, with 3.67 meters long, 1.60m width
and 1.70m high seats, the Jimny Sierra feels small from the inside,
giving it a compact ambiance. 2.25m wheelbase is the other factor to
make it feel smaller than the rest of the SUVs. Do you wear an "L"
length shirt? Well, then the leg space will definitely be an issue for you.

There is also electric window, no door storage and slim pockets with
elasticized bands – interesting inside features. A few bottle holders with
two arrears and one near the handbrake and the gear shifter area is
just about right for a wallet and may be a smart phone.
COMFORT
Not to worry about the backseat passengers, the bottle holders there
are placed above the wheel-arch, and you might find it a bit tight to put
in the bottles. But not all that difficult, the car offers 113 liters of cargo
space that may be good enough to fit a few of your grocery bags. And
the folding bags will provide as much up to 324L of capacity.
Unfortunately, for those love the humming of the punk and the jazz
tunes while riding, a two-speaker unit will not be a very satisfactory
one. A CD player and radio, without any Bluetooth phone connectivity,
might disappoint the travelers.
With a price of $19,990 drives away for the five-speed manual, this
Suzuki Jimny Sierra is basically a mix of the small cars on sale. The four-
speed auto model costs $21,990 for drive away and you’ve to spend an

added $475 for metallic paint. A quick look at the other mechanical
statistics -
• 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine
• 62.5kW of power at 6000rpm
• 110Nm at 4000rpm
Then why choose Jimny? The brilliant off-road ability comes from the
short wheelbase. 34 and 46 degrees for the approach and departure
angles make descending and ascending tracks easier. The three-link
coil-over suspension from front and rear gives great articulation at all
corners and avoid any off-balance situation. Simply put, Jimny is a good
buy given the other SUV price and best of all, comes with a Toyota
badge. You will even get a five-year and 140,000km warranty.
