Twitter allows masses of people to share small
140 character messages to each other. You
can subscribe to anything or anyone and
receive their messages.

3. How do I create a
twitter account?
Step 1.
Go to www.twitter.com
4. Step 2.
Your username has to be original/
unique but it can be changed at
anytime.
Untick the box that says tailor twitter
based on recent website visits.
You can now click create my account.

To activate your account you need to follow 5 people.
Have a look around and maybe you will find someone interesting to follow.
Click on the ‘Follow’ button to select 5 people. Then click the next button…
Then click on a category, select another 5 people.
The blue progress bar will fill up as you add followers until you are able to click
next again.
8. If you want to
explore the
world of Twitter
you can see if
any of your
email contacts
have an account
using Twitter’s
search function.
Or you can click
skip in the
bottom left
corner…
9. Now you will need to follow the link sent to
your email address to confirm your account.
10. The next step is to
populate your profile
with a picture and a
short bio that will look
like this.
11. You can follow accounts that you find
interesting and receive their tweets.
Users who find your tweets interesting
can also follow you back.

follow will be
displayed in your
twitter feed.
15. Hashtag was named word of the year in 2012
by The American Dialect Society… So what does
it actually mean?
Hashtag?
A tag embedded in a message posted on
twitter, consisting of word within the
message prefixed with a hash sign #.
In laymen's terms… it’s a way to group
together hundreds of tweets about the
same topic.
16. To start composing your tweet hit the blue
button in the top corner of the site or mobile
app.

This can be made up of text, web links, photos,
hashtags and other twitter accounts.
