• The aim for thrillers is to keep the audience alert
and on the edge of their seats
• The protagonist in these films is usually set
against a problem that they have to face and try
and solve/overcome.

4. • Protagonist ~ These characters will be one of the
main characters in the film and will be the people
who are trying to solve the dilemma that is in
place and will have certain characteristics. For
example, they will be brave, have no fear, and be
willing to lose something they love. The
protagonist will always come in conflict with the
antagonist
• Antagonist ~ These are also a main character
but are on the opposing side of the protagonist.
These are usually seen as the ‘bad guy’ of the
film.
