- 4. AbouT ouR ImAgeS Image File Formats JPeg (Joint Photographic Experts Group) A file compression format used for web display and projection. JPEGs are delivered in 3 sizes: thumbnail (190 x 138 pixels), screen (768 x 557 pixels), projection (3000 x 2000 pixels). TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) A high-resolution archival file format from which JPEG derivatives can be made. File sized at approximately 3000 x 2000 pixels at 18-22 MB. Press ESC to exit.

Refer to your software’s user guide for information on uploading images. Each digital image is accompanied by complete metadata based on the VRA core format. This gives educational institutions the freedom to build and maintain a digital image archive without recurring subscription fees. Our agreement ensures Davis and our contributors that images will only be used for educational purposes.
