By: Jalyn Trevillion
Due: October 29,2012
4th period
2. Character 1: Jonas
• Jonas in the book: The Giver had
a few challenges/problems.
• One challenge was that he was
the Receiver of Memory and all of
the people in his community have
to give their burdens to him.
• Also, he does not like that his little
brother, Gabriel, has to be
released because he knows
what that means.
3. How Character 1(Jonas)
Perseveres Through Adversity.
• Jonas perseveres through adversity by
running away from his community with
Gabriel, and found a
better community to
raise Gabriel.
4. Character 2: Adam
• Adam, which most
people call him
Zebra, broke his
arm and hand from
when a car hit him.
• He had lots of pain
and could not do
very much.
5. How Adam (Zebra) Perseveres
Through Adversity
• Zebra used his imagination to make him
successful with his art.
• He found ways to use this gift to help
others.
6. Character 3:Victor
In the story, Seventh Grade, Victor
tries to impress a girl (Theresa).
Theresa thinks that Victor actually
knows French even
though he knows
he doesn’t.
7. How character 3 (Victor)
perseveres through adversity
• Victor perseveres through adversity by
sounding like he knows French and their
teacher, Mr.Bueller, goes along with it
because I think that he knows that Victor
has a crush on Theresa.
8. Reflections Page
The characters that I have chosen has
overcame their fear by:
1. Jonas used his skills that he learned
from The Giver to take care of Gabriel.
2. Zebra used his imagination in a good
way to find his true personality (art).
3. And Theresa asked Victor to tutor her in
French.
