Madison, Wisconsin was established in 1836 when James Madison purchased over 1,000 acres of land between two lakes with the intention of building a city. In 1996, Money magazine named Madison the best place to live in the United States. The city is known for its beautiful scenery, cheese production, and being the home of the University of Wisconsin Badgers sports teams.
