Dennis Cunanan PDAF - Bird of Paradise
1. Dennis Cunanan PDAF: BIRD
OF PARADISE
Here’s a part of external design that Dennis Cunanan PLay and Display
Furnishings (Dennis Cunanan PDAF) has currently been exploring: garden
design and landscape architecture.
Having been in the business for a while, we, the staff of Dennis Cunanan
PDAF, have also had experience in building fruitful partnerships with other
companies, and in our comprehensive endeavors to make your home a
beautiful and livable place, we get by with a little help from our friends. Our
partner company Bird of Paradise Gardens Inc. has been at the frontline of
creative decision-making and execution of building and improving the
outdoor atmosphere of homes.
We agree with Bird of Paradise’s vision to seek a balance in the outdoors
between cutting-edge design and eco-friendly and sustainable placement
of materials and materials growth. We have spent many happy years with
them traveling from house to house, thinking about which chairs to place in

2. the frescoes of houses to have the perfect view of the bonsai or the koi fish
garden. Our partnership is built on trust among our staff members and
among our clients, who benefit the most from package projects that
involve both Dennis Cunanan PDAF and Bird of Paradise.
What are the first things that our staff and our partner staff check out when
people ask us to do their homes and gardens in sync with each other? Our
founder and very active co-manager for operations and consultancy Dennis
Cunanan, who knows the general ins and outs of the craft of architecture
and having been college classmates with Larry ‘Bird’ Calayan of Birds of
Paradise in the University of Sto.Tomas, shares that he and Bird focus on
the relationship between the outdoor flora and the surrounding interior as
the base of a home that feels complete and healthy.
“I consult with Bird and his staff for simple things, like where to put a certain
kind of plant in a certain place, because plants help distribute oxygen in a
home, and aside from that make the house very lively and natural-looking.
Then we think about the outside,”
Dennis says. Dennis and Bird’s special collaborative projects involve what
is present in porches and frescoes, and different elements are involved: as
Dennis may be consulted about which material to choose for interior
design, Bird is asked about shrubbery and other materials such as stone,
and how they might affect the inside (to prevent moss growth or too
much dirt going around, for example). Then, they agree on a particular
atmosphere to follow, so that the mood of both the exterior and the interior
of the home show complementary elements and unifies the living space
into something beautiful and comfortable.
And one last project that they enjoyed was building a grotto for the Virgin
Mary in a client’s garden, where the living room opened up alfresco to a
view of the garden itself, with its fresh greenery and a tranquil fish pond
with a small waterfall.

3. “After we completed the grotto, Bird and I prayed,” Says Dennis, “and
thanked God for always working with us.”
