CRS Designation

                     What is the CRS Designation?

                     The Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) is the highest
                     Designation awarded to sales associates in the residential sales
                     field. The CRS Designation recognizes professional
                     accomplishments in both experience and education.

                     Since 1977 the Council of Residential Specialists has been
                     conferring the CRS Designation on agents who meet its
                     stringent requirements. Currently, there are more than 34,000
                     active CRS Designees. Only 4% of Realtors have achieved this
                     designation.

About Derek Heppe

Derek Heppe is a full time, full service REALTOR & Broker In Charge of Ace Realty. He‟s a Certified
Residential Specialist. He helps buyers and sellers with all of their Real Estate needs in the Myrtle Beach
and surrounding areas of South Carolina. Prior to opening Ace Realty (In 2009, 2010 & 2011) he was
RE/MAX Beach & Country's top selling agent various months and made many new friends along the way.
He takes his job seriously and take pride in helping people, whether buying or selling a home or property.
“I grew up in the beautiful area of the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. I started out at a very young age
helping my father in construction-building homes, log homes and additions. By the age of 16, my father
made me a partner in his company and we worked together for quite some time. At age 21, I formed my
own construction company, DNA Builders and specialized in Log Home building. During this time
period, there were a number of foreclosed homes that began to come on the market in our area. This is
when I became interested in Real Estate. We had a few really bad winters and many of the foreclosed
homes needed a lot of work because of ice dams that formed on the roofs that caused water damage. As a
builder, I began investing in foreclosures & fixing them up for resale. I enjoyed restoring
properties, making money and helping communities become more attractive in the process.
Although I loved the area...as a very active, outdoor person, I desired to live in a warmer climate closer to
the beach. So I moved to Myrtle Beach. At first, it was just going to be for visit, but I fell in love with the
area and never left! I earned my SC Home Builders License and built a couple homes in Little River(just
North of North Myrtle Beach). It was at that time that I decided to go into Real Estate to sell my
properties. But my passion for Real Estate took root and I then became a full time Realtor with RE/MAX
and than opened Ace Realty and haven't looked back since. I absolutely love my job!”

Derek Heppe‟s Designations & Education
BROKER IN CHARGE & REALTOR® - National Association of Realtor
As a Realtor, we gain access to more information including the Local MLS. Also, we are held to a higher standard
than a typical real estate agent and take additional educational courses. Each year we pay dues to keep our
REALTOR status active and to be a associated with Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors & the National
Association of REALTORS. Brokers take an additional Real Estate Training Course and are required to have a
minimum of 3 Years Experience.

CNHS - Certified New Home Specialist
This designation is instrumental in making the entire buying process stress fee for my clients. Whether buying a
brand new home or an existing home I am able to help my clients avoid costly mistakes.

RCC- Residential Construction Certified
This designation provides detailed information concerning all physical components and materials that make up a
home. I think it is very important to know the product that you are selling inside and out.

CREN - Certified Real Estate Negotiator
The CREN Designation is instrumental in helping negotiate the best price for my clients.

GREEN - NAR Green Designation
The National Association of Realtor‟s Sustainable Properties Designation.

CRS - Certified Residential Specialist . Derek Was Awarded a CRS Scholarship
The highest designation a Realtor can receive in Residential Real Estate.

  • 19. About Derek Heppe Derek Heppe is a full time, full service REALTOR & Broker In Charge of Ace Realty. He‟s a Certified Residential Specialist. He helps buyers and sellers with all of their Real Estate needs in the Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas of South Carolina. Prior to opening Ace Realty (In 2009, 2010 & 2011) he was RE/MAX Beach & Country's top selling agent various months and made many new friends along the way. He takes his job seriously and take pride in helping people, whether buying or selling a home or property. “I grew up in the beautiful area of the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. I started out at a very young age helping my father in construction-building homes, log homes and additions. By the age of 16, my father made me a partner in his company and we worked together for quite some time. At age 21, I formed my own construction company, DNA Builders and specialized in Log Home building. During this time period, there were a number of foreclosed homes that began to come on the market in our area. This is when I became interested in Real Estate. We had a few really bad winters and many of the foreclosed homes needed a lot of work because of ice dams that formed on the roofs that caused water damage. As a builder, I began investing in foreclosures & fixing them up for resale. I enjoyed restoring properties, making money and helping communities become more attractive in the process. Although I loved the area...as a very active, outdoor person, I desired to live in a warmer climate closer to the beach. So I moved to Myrtle Beach. At first, it was just going to be for visit, but I fell in love with the area and never left! I earned my SC Home Builders License and built a couple homes in Little River(just North of North Myrtle Beach). It was at that time that I decided to go into Real Estate to sell my properties. But my passion for Real Estate took root and I then became a full time Realtor with RE/MAX and than opened Ace Realty and haven't looked back since. I absolutely love my job!” 19
