    • Highlights global news/trends.
    • Profiles local and alumni enterprises.
    • Experiments with ‘citizen-journalism.’

Our Initiatives Help NU
    Adapt to the Network.

• Train students in relevant life skills.
• Empower students to organize themselves.
• Build relationships between alumni and students.

Contact devin@beex.org with questions, comments, support, concerns, haikus.
Establish Standards

• Advocate the creation of practical
        courses that teach students network
        economy standards.
    • Web app power user: Google, Facebook, etc.
    • Media basics: Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash.
    • Collaboration: Basecamp, Google Docs.
    • Publish: Wordpress, Constant Contact

Contact devin@beex.org with questions, comments, support, concerns, haikus.
Collaborative Work

• Individuals absorb and display their
        knowledge through collaborative
        projects. Network classes should:
    • Have a clear objective for each individual and
the class. Ex. create/improve wiki entries.
    • Work with other classes in other disciplines on
expansive projects. Ex. history and film class
work together to produce a documentary.

Contact devin@beex.org with questions, comments, support, concerns, haikus.
Free Northwestern

• Students should experientially learn
        about civic engagement by legislating
        and administering their own policies.
    • Student government needs to be given real
         power to affect the university.
    • Authoritarian disciplinary procedures are
         ineffective, dangerous, and disenfranchise
         students. University governance should
conform to the US Constitution’s standards.

Contact devin@beex.org with questions, comments, support, concerns, haikus.
Student Enterprise
• NU’s local area is the best place for
        students to learn about business
        organization, and entrepreneurship.
        Students should:
    • Run campus businesses.
    • Assist businesses and non-profits in Evanston.
    • Independently develop their ideas with the
         goal of leaving NU self-employed.

Contact devin@beex.org with questions, comments, support, concerns, haikus.
Alumni Integration

• Build mentor/apprentice relationships
        between alumni and students.
    • Students work with alumni in their field of
         interest.
    • Alumni provide students with experiential
         learning opportunities and network access.
    • All relationships are voluntary, informal, and
         completely non-coercive.

Contact devin@beex.org with questions, comments, support, concerns, haikus.
