Compare and contrast
1. Compare and Contrast
By: Devon Hollnagel
Ali Baba and the forty thieves and Aladdin have many similarities and differences.
Aladdin was a movie made in the early 1990’s. Ali Baba and the forty thieves was a book
we read as a class.
The first similarity is that Aladdin and Ali Baba are both Arabian folk tales. I
would read another one if I wanted to but I liked Aladdin better.
The second one is that they both have thieves in them. Ali Baba has forty thieves
in the story and in Aladdin they only have one thieve and his name was Jafar. Jafar is a
thieve that wants all the POWER. For Ali Baba the thieves want to kill Ali Baba to get
back at him from stealing his money.
The last similarity is they both have animals in them. In Aladdin they have a
parrot, monkey, and then an elephant. In Ali Baba they have a whole bunch of donkeys.
The first and easiest difference to point out is Ali Baba is a book and Aladdin is a
movie. I think I liked the movie better.
The second one is I don’t think that Ali Baba is a family movie because people die
in the book. Aladdin is a family friendly movie but Disney may have changed it up a little
bit to make it family friendly.
The last difference is that in Aladdin they sing a lot but in Ali Baba they don’t
sing at all. In the book they don’t sing at all because they cant show it if they are
actually singing. They would have to say they are singing.
In conclusion I think I liked the movie Aladdin better. Ali Baba and Aladdin have
many similarities and differences. My favorite part in Aladdin is when Aladdin saves
Jasmine so she does not get her hand cut off.
