7 Angels (Rev 14:6-20)
7 Trumpets (Rev 8:1-11:19)
7 Bowls (Rev 16:2-21)
We have seen that there are distinct patterns between the
last 6 trumpets and bowls suggesting a chronological
order of events at the end of time.

5. The First Seal and Angel
1st Seal (Rev 6: 1&2)
1 Now I saw when the Lamb
opened one of the seals; and I
heard one of the four living
creatures saying with a voice
like thunder, “Come and see.”
2 And I looked, and behold, a
white horse. He who sat on it
had a bow; and a crown was
given to him, and he went
out conquering and to
conquer.
1st Angel (Rev 14:6&7)
6 Then I saw another angel flying in
he midst of heaven, having the
everlasting gospel to preach to
those who dwell on the earth—
to every nation, tribe, tongue,
and people—
7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear
God and give glory to Him, for
the hour of His judgment has
come; and worship Him who
made heaven and earth, the sea
and springs of water.”

6. Interpretation
Some people see the rider on the white horse in the first
seal to be Jesus. They link this with the victorious
spreading of the gospel to the ends of the earth by the
first angel.
Others see the rider as the Antichrist who will come to
power in the time that the gospel reaches the ends of the
earth.
Missionary organizations are confident that all the
unreached people groups of the world will be reached in
the next few years.

7. The Gospel of the Kingdom of God
The first sign of the end is, and first Angel bears, the Gospel of the Kingdom of
God.
And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. (Mark 13:10)
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to
(Matthew 24:14)
all the nations, and then the end will come.
6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting
gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth - to every nation, tribe,
tongue, and people - 7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to
Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven
and earth, the sea and springs of water.” (Rev. 14:6&7)

8. What is the Gospel?
The details of the Gospel (Good News) message from the
Book of Acts are essentially this: Jesus of Nazareth is God
“manifest in the flesh”; He was born supernaturally of the
virgin Mary; He lived a perfect and sinless life; He
performed many signs and wonders; He died on the cross
for the sins of mankind; He rose from the dead on the third
day; He ascended into heaven; He rules and reigns on the
right hand of the Father; and He will return in the same
manner that He went.

9. The Response to the Gospel
What is the appropriate response to the Gospel demanded of
people by God? Repentance and faith.
14 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee,
preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 and saying, “The
time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and
believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:14&15)
testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God
and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:21)

10. What are Repentance and Faith?
What is repentance?
9 Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow
led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner,
that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. 10 For godly sorrow
produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted;
but the sorrow of the world produces death. (2 Cor. 7:9&10)
What is faith?
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence
of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of
God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which
are visible. (Hebrews 11:1-3)

11. Faith is not just acknowledging facts
Faith is not merely an intellectual assent to the facts of the
Gospel. It is not just acknowledging facts.
17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18
But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show
me your faith without your works, and I will show you my
faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God.You
do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you
want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is
dead? (James 2:17-20)
Faith is embracing Christ and having your life changed. The fruit
of faith is good works.

12. Have You Repented of Your Sins?
Have you repented of your sins before God and trusted in the Lord Jesus for your
eternal salvation? When?
5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you
not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.
(2 Cor. 13:5)
17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good
tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does
not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits
you will know them. 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the
kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will
say to Me in that day, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out
demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will
declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
(Matt. 7:17-23)
Many people claim to be Christians and even do great miracles, but God says “I never
knew you”. Do you know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord?

13. Apostasy from the Gospel
The Bible teaches that there will be a Great Falling Away of professing
believers from the visible Church, not a Global Revival as some Bible
teachers claim.
9 Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will
be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be
offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And
because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of
the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the
nations, and then the end will come. (Matt. 24:9-14)
This passage tells us that ‘many will be offended’ and ‘the love of many
will grow cold’.

14. The Great Falling Away
“Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless
the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of
perdition…” (2 Thess. 2:3)
The Second Coming of Jesus is preceded not by a great revival, but a
falling away.
“7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to
Him, though He bears long with them? 8 I tell you that He will avenge
them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really
find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:7&8)
When Jesus comes again things will be so bad that is will be difficult to
find faith on the earth. Thankfully God will save national Israel and
preserve a remnant of Gentiles from the nations.

15. The Gospel & the Jews
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ,
for it is the power of God to salvation for
everyone who believes, for the Jew first and
also for the Greek. (Rom 1:16) The Gospel was
first given to the Jews, but most of them rejected
it, so it was then given to the Gentiles. A time is
coming, though, when all national Israel will be
saved.

16. The Salvation of National Israel
25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of
this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that
blindness in part has happened to Israel until the
fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel
will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out
of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their
sins.” 28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake,
but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the
fathers. 29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now
obtained mercy through their disobedience, 31 even so these
also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown
you they also may obtain mercy. (Rom. 11:25-31)

17. Summary
The Gospel must first be preached to all nations before the end
comes. All the major mission groups testify that we are nearly there.
There are only a few unreached people groups left.
The Gospel message demands the response of repentance towards
God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. A regenerate heart is
evidenced by good works.
There will be a great apostasy (falling away) of professing believers
from the visible Church. This has already started in a generation
growing faithless.Young people, even those who were raised in the
church, are no longer going to church. No Scriptures describe a
revival, except amongst the Jews in the midst of persecution.
Jews worldwide will be saved during the Great Tribulation. God will
open their spiritual eyes and they will recognize that He is the
Messiah that they rejected.

18. Conclusion
In the next presentations we will examine in more detail
each of the end time events according to the outlines that we
have seen in these two pairs of cycles.
The next issue is the rise of the Temple of God.
