4. When and where did the Wahine s ink On 1968 10 th April a violent storm called cyclone Giselle came the north coast and met with another one coming up the south coast. This caused a massive cyclone over Wellington harbour. The Wahine was sailing into Wellington harbour when the storm struck. This caused the Wahine to go aground on Barrettes reef and capsize.
5. How did the Wahine sink? On the morning of April the 10 th 1968 cyclone Giselle met at wellington harbour with another cyclone from Antarctica that caused a massive storm.
