Open Educational Resources (OER)
  Presentation: Matus & Lavanya Concept: Lionel Paul
Providing high quality education to the
learners while containing the costs is a
common challenge that educators face
globally.
Current information technology development
has highlighted the deficiencies and challenges
in the traditional education system.
Open Educational Resources (OER) are learning
materials such as structured courses, course reference
materials, books, assessments, audio, video, software,
tools, technology, techniques and other related
materials that enable knowledge acquisition. They
include intellectual property licenses that govern open
publishing of materials, design-principles, and
localization of content.
Open license can raise
the education standards globally.
The open license enables the instructors
and learners to use the content anywhere,
anytime and in anyway they deem fit.
• Users don’t have to be concerned about how
  long the OER can be used.
• There are a wide variety of devices both
  mobile and static where OER can be used
  effectively.
• High quality education to all can be achieved
  by open content and technology
  intergradation.

  • 4. Providing high quality education to the learners while containing the costs is a common challenge that educators face globally.

  • 6. Current information technology development has highlighted the deficiencies and challenges in the traditional education system.

Open Educational Resources (OER) are learning materials such as structured courses, course reference materials, books, assessments, audio, video, software, tools, technology, techniques and other related materials that enable knowledge acquisition. They include intellectual property licenses that govern open publishing of materials, design-principles, and localization of content.

  • 12. Open license can raise the education standards globally.
  • 13. The open license enables the instructors and learners to use the content anywhere, anytime and in anyway they deem fit.
  • 14. • Users don’t have to be concerned about how long the OER can be used. • There are a wide variety of devices both mobile and static where OER can be used effectively. • High quality education to all can be achieved by open content and technology intergradation.
