The animal shelter is seeking a new location in DeSoto County. Commissioner Adam Cummings wants the county to hire Roger Baltz as the permanent county administrator rather than conducting an expensive search. Baltz has been serving as interim administrator after the previous administrator resigned. Cummings believes Baltz is ideally suited for the role based on his experience and character. The commissioners will vote on whether to extend Baltz's contract or conduct an outside search at their meeting on Tuesday.
