The presentation will cover methods to use NX6 along with a packaging optimization program (POP) to drive more efficient use of packaging in shipping containers. Bottles are used as an example, but can easily apply to any consumer product or shippable good. The POP is a separate space fitting program which outputs a range of optimum dimensions, however the POP does not really know the true volume of the enclosed shape. This is where NX6 comes in: the range of dimensions are entered into expressions to drive each one to exact target volume. Some results work better than others, and one can make the best choice based on aesthetics and manufacturing concerns. The presentation will show some approaches both manual & automated and will conclude with some Q & A time to discuss and share how others may have solved similar issues.
