Proposed Schedule:
Mon/Wed BRJH
8:55 am – 3:25 pm

Tues/Thurs WRJH
7:35 am - 2:05 pm

ITS Learning –

An LMS is a place to house content
 and engage students in an online
        learning platform

A typical week
Monday – Teacher led            Thursday – Students are
  instruction to introduce      given time to work on
  topic for the week.           activities on-line/off line
                                which reinforces topic and
Tuesday – Students work on

Advantages

  FL in middle school.
• Students will given more responsibility for their
  own learning

• Teacher will be able to monitor and engage,
  motivate and direct student learning.

• Students will still be able to participate in fiestas,
  Latin music and other cultural activities together.

• Same Curriculum as high school - ¡Exprésate!

• This blended approach combines the best
  elements of online and face-to-face learning.
“Blended learning should be viewed as a
pedagogical approach that combines the
effectiveness and socialization opportunities of
the classroom with the technologically
enhanced active learning possibilities of the
online environment, rather than a ratio of
delivery modalities.

In other words, blended learning should be
approached not merely as a temporal construct,
but rather as a fundamental redesign of the
instructional model.

A typical week Monday – Teacher led Thursday – Students are instruction to introduce given time to work on topic for the week. activities on-line/off line which reinforces topic and Tuesday – Students work on then take an assessment. on/off-line assignments and are able to access on-line Friday – Teacher presents resources to review and cultural activity and/or supplement instruction students are given time to during class hours. work on activity/project. Wednesday – Teacher reviews topic and assignments with students.
  • 27. Advantages • Students will be better prepared for college. • Having a para- professional. will allow for more one- on-one instruction and assessment. • More students will have the opportunity to take FL in middle school.
  • 28. • Students will given more responsibility for their own learning • Teacher will be able to monitor and engage, motivate and direct student learning. • Students will still be able to participate in fiestas, Latin music and other cultural activities together. • Same Curriculum as high school - ¡Exprésate! • This blended approach combines the best elements of online and face-to-face learning.
  • 29. “Blended learning should be viewed as a pedagogical approach that combines the effectiveness and socialization opportunities of the classroom with the technologically enhanced active learning possibilities of the online environment, rather than a ratio of delivery modalities. In other words, blended learning should be approached not merely as a temporal construct, but rather as a fundamental redesign of the instructional model.
