1. Curtis Robinson
Curtis Robinson has executed grassroots communications strategies for virtually
every high-profile public affairs issue in the past decade, ranging from such
controversial and high-profile debates as tobacco and stem cell research.
He is equally steeped in the publishing industry. Currently the founding president of
Volume One Publishing, he is bridging the gap between traditional print news and
online publishing in culturally significant U.S. markets.
Robinson's experience ranges from covering Margaret Thatcher for Reuters News
Service to editing the 10,000-circulation Aspen Daily News, and has included
positions as editor and managing editor at newspapers in Kentucky, Colorado,
Alabama and California, as well as director of new media for a newspaper Web site
honored in 1999 by the National Newspaper Association of America as the best
online newspaper in the under-70,000 circulation category.
Additionally, Robinson has served as a political consultant in California, where he
directed opposition research, grassroots media, and strategy for several successful
municipal campaigns, and has collaborated with national authors on books published
by Random House and Simon & Schuster.
Formerly a Partner with Qorvis Communications, he was also with the Direct Impact
Company, one of the pioneers in grassroots campaigns. At Direct Impact he was
