Founded in 1946.
From 1957 to 1969, the Celtics dominated the league winning 11

consecutive championship streak of any American sports team.

Founded in 1980.

In the early years they never really made it to the playoffs, because of
dominance from the Lakers.
Best season was in 2006-07, winning 67 games, & earning NBA’s best
record.
2011 playoffs they swept the Lakers with a 4-0 win.
Later winning 4-2 in the Finals against Heat.

social issues such as education, youth and family
development, and health and wellness. The NBA and its teams
support a range of programs, partners and initiatives that strive to
positively impact children and families worldwide.
Since October 2005 when NBA Cares was launched, the league
and teams have raised more than $160 million for
charity, provided more than 1.7 million hours of hands-on
service, and built more than 610 places where kids and families
can live, learn or play in communities around the world.
11. NBA LOCKOUT 2011
Fourth lockout in the history of the NBA.
It began on July 1, 2011.
The main issues dividing the owners and the players are because
the players and owners don’t want to settle on money. Saying that
they wont go lower then 52.5%
During the lockout, teams cannot trade, sign or contact players and
players cannot access NBA team facilities, trainers or staffs.
All preseason games and the first four weeks of the 2011–12 season
through November 30, 2011, have already been cancelled.
Some players have signed contracts to play in other countries, and
most have the option to return to the NBA as soon as the lockout
ends.
The lockout will remain in effect until the NBPA reaches a deal with
the NBA owners.
12. IMPACT
NBA League lost about $200 million cancelling the preseason.
As of October 25, an estimated 400 NBA jobs have been lost due
to layoffs and attrition since the lockout—around 200 in the
league office and another 200 among the 30 teams.
Players
The cancellation of each month of the season costs the
players around $350 million in lost pay.
More than 75 players have agreed to play overseas.
Some agreed to play for the Chinese League, which means they
wont come back until the season is over.

Others have stayed in America & made they're own team ―The
Lockout League‖
Players such as JJ Barea Renaldo Belkman, & Carlos Arroyo
decided to play for Puerto Rico.
