Dr. Lamont Tyler, a physician board certified in family as well as urgent care medicine, joined OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in 2004. After practicing for a year with St. Joseph, the hospital promoted Dr. Lamont Tyler to lead physician and then to his current role as medical director of urgent care.

3.  Through its Blue Distinction Program, the insurer ranks
such facilities under three categories: Blue Distinction
Total Care, Blue Distinction Center, and Blue
Distinction Center+.
In May 2016, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois honored
OSF St. Joseph Medical Center by naming it a Blue
Distinction Center for the quality of its surgical
treatments targeting the hip, spine, and knee. Very few
hospitals hold such distinctions. In fact, for knee and
hip surgeries, OSF St. Joseph and two other providers
make up the only three Blue Distinction Centers in
Illinois.
