Skin cancer is a common, usually low-grade cancerous (malignant) growth of the skin. It starts from cells that begin as normal skin cells and transform into those with the potential to reproduce in an out-of-control manner. Unlike other cancers, the vast majority of skin cancers have no potential to spread to other parts of the body (metastasize) and threaten your life.

2. Ingrown hair
Ingrown hair, also known as "razor
bumps," are a common skin
condition, particularly in people
whose hair has the tendency to curl
back or grow sideways in a hair
follicle. The result often looks like
acne, consisting of tiny round
bumps, some of which have a visible
hair trapped inside them. They also
can be accompanied by pustules
and skin discoloration. Furthermore,
they can be painful and itchy as well
as cosmetically disfiguring.

3. Epidermoid cysts
Epidermoid cysts (Sebaceous cysts)
are common noncancerous cysts of
the skin. Cysts are abnormalities in
the body that may contain liquid or
semi-liquid material. Sebaceous
cysts are mostly found on the face,
neck, or torso. They grow slowly
and are not life threatening, but
they may become uncomfortable if
they go unchecked. Small cysts are
typically not painful. Large cysts can
range from uncomfortable to
considerably painful. Large cysts on
the face and neck may cause
pressure and pain.

4. boil
A boil is a skin infection that
starts in a hair follicle or oil
gland. At first, the skin turns
red in the area of the
infection, and a tender lump
develops. After four to seven
days, the lump starts turning
white as pus collects under the
skin.The most common places
for boils to appear are on the
face, neck, armpits, shoulders,
and buttocks. When one forms
on the eyelid, it is called a sty
.If several boils appear in a
group, this is a more serious
type of infection called a
carbuncle.

5. Skin tags
Skin tags are invariably benign - non
cancerous - tumors of the skin which cause
no symptoms, unless it is repeatedly
rubbed or scratched, as may happen with
clothing, jewelry, or when shaving. Very
large skin tags may burst under pressure.
The surface of skin tags may be smooth or
irregular in appearance, they are often
raised from the surface of the skin on
fleshy peduncles (stalks). They are usually
flesh-colored or slightly brownish.Initially
they are quite small, flattened like a
pinhead bump. Skin tags can range in
diameter from 2mm to 1cm; some may
even reach 5cm.

6. Angioma
Angioma or haemangioma
(American spelling ‘hemangioma’)
describes a benign (non-
cancerous) overgrowth of blood
vessels in the skin. Angiomas are
due to proliferating endothelial
cells; these are the cells that line
blood vessels

7. Molluscum contagiosum
Molluscum contagiosum is a viral
skin infection that causes either
single or multiple raised, pearl-
like bumps (papules) on the skin.
Molluscum contagiosum is a
chronic infection and lesions may
persist from a few months to a
few years. However, most cases
resolve in six to nine months.
Common locations for
molluscum contagiosum papules
are on the face, trunk, and limbs
of children and on the genitals,
abdomens, and inner thighs of
adults.

8. Genital warts
Genital warts are one of the
most common types of sexually
transmitted infections .Genital
warts are growths on the skin of
the genital area and around the
anus. They are caused by certain
types of the human papilloma
virus (HPV). Common genital
warts symptoms are flesh-
colored, soft-to-the-touch
bumps on the skin that may look
like the surface of a cauliflower.
They often grow in more than
one place and may cluster in
large masses. Genital warts
usually are painless, but they
may itch.

9. Keratosis pilaris
Keratosis pilaris is a common,
harmless skin condition. It causes
small, hard bumps that may make
your skin feel like sandpaper.The
bumps are often light-colored. They
usually appear on your upper arms,
thighs, and buttocks, sometimes with
redness or swelling. They can also
show up on your face, but that's less
common. Except for some itching,
keratosis pilaris doesn't hurt and
doesn't get worse. Many children and
teens get it, and it usually disappears
as they get older.

10. Folliculitis
Folliculitis means an inflammation or
infection of the hair follicles of the
skin. Most of the skin is covered with
tiny hairs which grow out of hair
follicles. In folliculitis, many hair
follicles in one area of the skin are
affected. The affected hair follicles
swell into small pus-filled pimples.
Each individual pimple looks like a
small, rounded, yellow-red spot.

11. Genital herpes
Genital herpes is an STD caused by two types of
viruses. The viruses are called herpes simplex type
1 and herpes simplex type 2. Herpes is a common
sexually transmitted disease (STD) that any
sexually active person can get. Most people with
the virus don’t have symptoms. It is important to
know that even without signs of the disease, it can
still spread to sexual partners. It is transmitted
through intimate contact with the moist mucous
linings of the genitals. This contact can involve the
mouth, the vagina, or the genital skin. Following
infection, the virus travels to nerve roots near the
spinal cord and settles there permanently. When
an infected person has a herpes outbreak, the
virus travels down the nerve fibers to the site of
the original infection; when it reaches the skin,
redness and blisters occur.
