Impaction in the CSU
Approx. 17,000 students who have taken 80 or more credits (atleast 40 units in
a CSU), have good academic standing and have been absent for more than 1 yr and less than 2 yrs

 Undergraduate degree completion program options
focused on returning students and welcoming back
students with strong CSU campus connections
 Baccalaureate degree programs in high needs areas
such as business, nursing, communications and










Flexible programs that maximize credits with direct pathways
to program completion and CLEPP options for GE backfill
Qualifying students must have 80 transfer units of which 40
were taken at a CSU campus (These are OUR students)
Direct outreach to eligible CSU students
Customized coaching, retention, motivation and success
support as well as advancement advising
Embedded and integrated career portfolio development
Imbedded digital textbooks inside course shell
Grant funding from The Commission on the Extended
University was awarded Spring 2012 to support the first
(model) CSU Reconnect

ACADEMIC CONTROL OF PROGRAMS







Campus and faculty retain academic control of program
Academic program participation is voluntary
Campuses are responsible for the review, modification, and approval of
course/program requirements, curriculum, and coursework materials.
All Faculty are paid either the Special Sessions Faculty Pay Schedule or
other basis according to the current collective bargaining agreement
within the self-support unit of the campus
Course/Program cancellation is the joint responsibility of Cal State Online
and the campus.
– Individual instructors cannot cancel a course/program.
– Once a course/program has begun, it is the mutual obligation of the
campus and Cal State Online to insure that every student who begins a
course/program can complete their educational requirements.

Submitting a Potential Program

 Complete the review process on campus for fully
online programs
 Chancellor’s Office (Chris Mallon’s Office) letter of
support for your WASC application
 “WASC”(Western Association of Schools & Colleges)
approvals to offer a program fully online
 Work with the Extended Education College on your
campus who will work with Cal State Online to
implement and deliver the program

CSU Reconnect BA Programs        Nov. 2012 Flexible programs that maximize credits with direct pathways to program completion and CLEPP options for GE backfill Qualifying students must have 80 transfer units of which 40 were taken at a CSU campus (These are OUR students) Direct outreach to eligible CSU students Customized coaching, retention, motivation and success support as well as advancement advising Embedded and integrated career portfolio development Imbedded digital textbooks inside course shell Grant funding from The Commission on the Extended University was awarded Spring 2012 to support the first (model) CSU Reconnect Increasing CSU Access 8

ACADEMIC CONTROL OF PROGRAMS      Campus and faculty retain academic control of program Academic program participation is voluntary Campuses are responsible for the review, modification, and approval of course/program requirements, curriculum, and coursework materials. All Faculty are paid either the Special Sessions Faculty Pay Schedule or other basis according to the current collective bargaining agreement within the self-support unit of the campus Course/Program cancellation is the joint responsibility of Cal State Online and the campus. – Individual instructors cannot cancel a course/program. – Once a course/program has begun, it is the mutual obligation of the campus and Cal State Online to insure that every student who begins a course/program can complete their educational requirements.
