1) A megabyte is not exactly 1 million bytes but rather 1,048,576 bits. 2) When upgrading a processor, the new processor must be compatible with the motherboard's socket type and electrical requirements, and RAM must also be compatible with the new CPU. 3) There is no simple answer to whether it is cheaper to upgrade components or buy a new system - one must calculate costs and plan for upgrades taking longer than expected.
