CBBM provides a framework to the students to understand the
institution of Banking and its catalyst role as financial intermediaries.
The course concentrates on the various statutes governing the banks
and its pivotal role as creators of money. It addresses the need to
improve the banking literacy by conveying important banking concepts,
tools and techniques.

Students learn the intricacies of universal banking, along with the
challenging role that banks face in meeting the business needs of its
evolving clientele. The entire gamut of banking services and products
are covered with particular reference to banker– customer relationships,
various types of bank accounts & credit facilities, pricing mechanism of
banks, asset liability management, financial risk, hedging mechanism
and innovative banking products. Emphasis is also given to the topics of
bank marketing and delivery channels.

exam and three writing assignments. Students are expected to actively
participate in the deliberations, individually and group wise.
The course largely adopts case method. Every student comes to the class
fully prepared. The students will prepare the assigned cases, readings,
exercises, and discuss them in the class. In case of graded group
Methodology assignments the discussion should be strictly limited to the group
members. In a typical session, few students may be asked to start the
discussion and then rest of the class can participate. Any violation of the
academic integrity shall be dealt with very serious penalties.
