The document summarizes a sermon about the Queen of Sheba's visit to King Solomon, drawing parallels between her long journey to learn from his wisdom and the importance of regularly attending church services to learn from God. The Queen of Sheba traveled 1200 miles to hear Solomon's wisdom, yet many ignore opportunities to learn from God by attending church, where they can hear His word and wisdom through preaching and fellowship with other believers.

1 Kings 10 1 And
when the queen of
Sheba heard of the
fame of Solomon
concerning the
Name of the
LORD, she came to
prove him with
hard questions.
1200 miles
4. 4
The Queen of Sheba was a very wealthy monarch,
and she had heard of Solomon and of his Mighty
God 1200 miles away.
She came to test Solomon with questions.
1200 miles was a long journey back then, but she
made the trip to get to know him.
5. 5
2 And she came to Jerusalem
with a very great train, with
camels that bare spices, and
very much gold, and
precious stones: and when
she was come to Solomon,
she communed with him of
all that was in her heart.
Train = probably a force, whether of men, means or
other resources; an army, wealth, virtue, valor, strength

6. 6
3 And Solomon told her all her questions: there was
not anything hid from the king, which he told her
not.
God gave Solomon the answers to all of her questions.
Remember, she had heard of his fame –
Concerning the Name of the Lord.
That’s what brought her 1200 miles to see Solomon.
7. 7
4 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all
Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,
5 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his
servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and
their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by
which he went up unto the house of the LORD;
there was no more spirit in her. (she was overwhelmed)
She was a great monarch, but not compared to
what God had made Solomon to be.
8. 8
6 And she said to the king, It was a true report that I
heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy
wisdom. 7 Howbeit I believed not the words, until I
came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the
half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity
exceedeth the fame which I heard. 8 Happy are thy
men, happy are these thy servants, which stand
continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.
Usually the buildup of a person or place exceeds
the actual experience, but that was not so of what
she had heard of Solomon.
9. 9
9 Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted
in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because
the LORD loved Israel forever, therefore made He
thee king, to do judgment and justice. 10 And she
gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of
gold, and of spices very great store, and precious
stones: there came no more such abundance of
spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to
king Solomon.
She came to receive from Solomon, but she didn’t
come empty-handed.
10. 10
Matthew 12 41 (Jesus) The men of Nineveh shall
rise in judgment with this generation, and shall
condemn it: because they repented at the preaching
of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the
judgment with this generation, and shall condemn
it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the
earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold,
a greater than Solomon is here.
11. 11
Pagans had heard of the things God did and
responded more than the people of God were doing.
Churches all across the world are
coming together to worship God
and study His Word together.
12. 12
But this generation ignores the invitation, just as
the generation in Jesus’ day ignored Him.
They think they have better things to do.
13. 13
John 5 23-24 That all men should honor the Son,
even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not
the Son honoreth not the Father which hath sent
Him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth
My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath
everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Where better to hear The Word than in church?
14. 14
Romans 10 13 For whosoever shall call upon the
Name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall
they call on Him in whom they have not believed?
and how shall they believe in Him of whom they
have not heard? and how shall they hear without a
preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they
be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of
them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad
tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all
obeyed the Gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath
believed our report? 17 So then faith cometh by
hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
15. 15
Hebrews 10 23 Let us hold fast the profession of
our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that
promised;)
Don’t start and stop; be and remain faithful.
Keep on keeping on.
16. 16
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto
love and to good works:
In today’s culture most people consider only
themselves and their own desires.
I’ve heard it said, “I don’t go to church
because I don’t get nothing out of it.”
Not only do they fail to go to church;
They fail to speak good grammar too.
17. 17
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves
together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting
(to call near; comfort; encourage) one another: and
so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
The Queen of Sheba
didn’t think it too much
trouble to travel 1200
miles to hear the Wisdom
of God through the mouth
of Solomon.
Church on every corner

1 Corinthians 14 26 How is it then, brethren? when
ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm,
hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation,
hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto
edifying.
People receive little or nothing in church,
because they give little or nothing.
Do you pray

Let’s open our minds and hearts to the Lord.
