4. Acts 19:11-12 And
God wrought special miracles by the
hands of Paul: so that from his body were brought
unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the
diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits
went out of them. 13 Then certain of the vagabond
Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them
which had evil spirits the Name of the Lord Jesus,
saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul
preacheth. Review

5. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew,
and chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the
evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and
Paul I know; but who are ye?
It was common, especially among the Jews, for
persons to profess or to try to cast out evil spirits. If
we resist the devil by faith in Christ, he will flee
from us; but if we think to resist him by the using
of Christ's Name, or His Works, as a spell or
charm, Satan will prevail against us.

6. 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped
on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against
them, so that they fled out of that house naked and
wounded.
The demon made the possessed man
supernaturally strong.
Never attempt to cast out demons in your own
strength or power; you will lose.
Do only, but always what the Holy Spirit
tells you to do.
6
7. The demon not only defeated them;
he also humiliated them, sending
them naked into the street.

are not carnal, but mighty through God to the
pulling down of strong holds;)

8. Ephesians 6 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in
the Lord, and in the Power of His Might. 11 Put on
the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to
stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we
wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places.
A man is out of control, beating
his wife and children.
But he has a spiritual problem that a fist
can not fix. 8
9. What can we do?
Ephesians 6 14 Stand therefore, having your loins
girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate
of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the
preparation of the Gospel of peace; 16 Above all,
taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be
able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword
of the Spirit, which is the Word of God: 18 Praying
always with all prayer and supplication in the
Spirit, and watching thereunto with all
perseverance and supplication for all saints;

10. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with
truth, ("having on the belt of truth")
To be strong to fight spiritual warfare, a believer
must live a life of honesty, integrity, and honor.

righteousness;
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
10
11. 15 Andyour feet shod with the preparation of the
Gospel of peace;
When we know the Word of God and live by it,
we will stand without stumbling.
We can fight the good fight
without fear of failure.
Trust God enough to live by
His Word.

12. 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith
ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the
wicked.
Absolute trust in God and His Word enables us to
live and walk in the Power of the Holy Ghost.
Those who trust God live
our lives His Way.
We are not afraid, and we can't lose.
12
13. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the Sword
of the Spirit, which is the Word of God:
Faith in our present and future deliverance
(salvation) enables us to stand strong for Jesus.
The Word of God is our only offensive weapon.
Know it and live it with confidence.
13
14. 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication
in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all
perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Praying includes worship and asking.
Watching means to stay awake and on guard.
Perseverance means we are persistent;
Never give up.
Supplication means to ask of God.
